Second on the slate for the Super Mario Bros. Monster Compendium this month, it's Tolstar, the first boss of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.... if you don't count the token bowser fight that starts off almost EVERY Mario RPG (excluding Paper Mario Thousand Year Door). He seems to be related to the gabon and clubba family, of whom also includes the likes of Tubba Blubba, and Clubba, from Paper Mario and Thousand Year Door, respectively. They all seem to have a greedy streak, as Tolstar runs a toll bridge.

For the hair, I thought "kabuki"..... but then again, when do I not think kabuki?! I'm usually pretty awesome at drawing big, chunkey monsters, but for some reason the shape of his body gave me problems! I ended up putting it off, an ended up missing my first deadline because of it... not that deadlines are really an issue at the compendium.
