Normally Asgore's reassurances would be comforting, but under these circumstances it's a little ominous. Not that he knows that, haha.
He was going to go get a bandage for his finger but the brothers distracted him. Papyrus has started taking Sans's ego boosts to heart! Although the thought that their parents abandoned them is starting to take root.
That picture looks a little familiar , huh?

Well, more than "abandoned" they "escaped" tho they don't remember that.
Guess Gaster was the one who "went lost"
Now I'm wondering if Sans will remember Gaster one day, because presumably he does in the game. Hmmm........
Btw I loved when Asgore gets all like: "when mommy and daddy loves each other a lot, but A LOT..." xD

Their dad's gonna find them eventually... although his intentions are yet to be seen. Will he seek forgiveness? Revenge? Or something entirely different? Only time will tell.

I've got a feeling he'd want revenge against Sans. Forgiveness, on the other hand... well, he probably feels that he doesn't deserve it, so he doesn't expect anyone to forgive him for what he's done.

I think that revenge isn't it either. Remember beam incident? And other Sans' attempts at his life? No revenge either. He punishes disobedience, makes scary warning examples, but revenge kinda is not on the list. He did not feel wronged. I think he has this attitude, that if he was not able to defend himself, he kind of had it coming. He does not deny responsibility, he denies having a choice. And there is some guilt about what he has done. And resignation to his fate... Then again, goop monster was horrible, perhaps he could be tormented into vengeancefulness.

"who share a part of their souls"
Does that have some sort of specifically magical meaning? Because I could see children as being made literally of a part of a parent's soul, but that reasoning doesn't work for cousins. Do family members have to share pieces of SOUL? What about families that don't get along or don't speak to each other or are divorced?
No, Asgore, you shouldn't make assumptions when dealing with orphans. Not everyone is a good person, and you might make it that much more painful to find out . . .

Hum well from my point of view, we technially all have a 'soul' thats techniaclly our 'spirit' or how we exist. And concidering when 'when mommy and daddy love each other a lot, but A LOT...' as asgore puts it. they make anoher soul is my point of view taking both their souls put into it, as it is an indivdual soul it still has the parts of both the parents. I would think in some way you would be related to your cousins because your parents parents made your parents sisters and/or brothers so you have apart of the soul they have of there parent. (Oh lord so many parents ) So technially yes you could share souls with cousins, also even if you dont get along, of you were made by those 'two people' you would still have a part of thier soul, it would never technially leave you concidering they created you, its implemented into your soul. As of what I think we pretty much are all related soul wise. But this is my stupid conspricy theroy so ignore all the time and effort I put into this XD cause its probably so wrong.

Like immaterial genetic material. If one does not believe in soul, one can still account it to both genetics and nurture, that is passed on by enviroment and its inhabitans much the same way as genetics. Collective conscious and unconscious etc...

Don't think anyone will be able to remember Gaster due to him being shattered across time and space, thus erasing his existence. But I can imagine Sans' and Papyrus' behaviour and thoughts caused by Gaster didn't get erased, seeing how Zarla portrays them. Even though they don't remember who caused it. That's my theory at least : D

I feel like Sans is starting to... remember... something. I mean, Sans's face during most of this is that of someone who's either really angry, freaked out, or depressed... or just lost in thought. My money's on 2 and 4.
Also, just had a random thought. In the future, Frisk knows about Gaster (they saw the grey door/room), and Frisk wants to help everyone right? So, hypothetically speaking, could they employ Sans and Alphys to build a machine that could bring Gaster back? And if so, what would be the outcome? Because Sans doesn't really remember Gaster, and he probably wouldn't have a problem with bringing Gaster back until the point where he saw the guy. Just a thought.

But you know that already, right?

Michael-Vykos In reply to adoptionsnowcone [2018-02-11 01:59:03 +0000 UTC]
Sans is extremely smart, he can read the slight variations in frisk face to measure his frustration and calculate the amount of times he have died, but he cant remember resets.
For example, to unlock sans room and sans lab, you have to speak to sans in the judgement hall.
Then, you load the previous save and talk to him again, and sans is surprised by your face, like you were hearing things for a second time, so he tells you a secret password, in case you are a time traveler (he dont remember you already talked to him
Then, you have to load the game for the third time and speak to him the password, and he gave you his ultimate password to be sure (im the elgendary fartmaster).
Then you have to load AGAIN, and tell him his ultimate password.
He explains to you that the only way you could know that is by travelling time, and give you the key to his room.
So...... Sans is the smartest character in the game, but cant remember resets

adoptionsnowcone In reply to Michael-Vykos [2018-02-11 02:51:36 +0000 UTC]
oh, okay. Makes sense, nice job remembering all of that. But... what if he's messing with Frisk? What if he's only pretending to not remember the resets? Hmm? What then?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Michael-Vykos In reply to adoptionsnowcone [2018-02-11 03:32:11 +0000 UTC]
That is simply impossible because he dont have determination, only you (because of your determination) and flowey (because of the human determination he got injected in him) can remmeber them, sans dont have it, so he cant. He even admits it openly
"we will get back here without any memory of it"
Thats like saying "what if papyrus can break the barrier and free the monsters at will, but he is a monster that loves to see his brother suffering, so he´s only pretending he cant?
Too forced, if the game shows us so clearly that he cant, he cant, plain and simple
