I had a particularly bad episode of sleep paralysis lately so why not turn it into something, haha. This would be set after the two of them escape. They don't remember anything about what happened to them, but they do have recurring nightmares about being menaced by an strange indistinct figure. But who doesn't right? Also nightmares where you can't move seemed sadly appropriate, considering.
Gaster previously mentioned souls glowing in unison , and handholding showed up a long time ago . When Sans offered to stay with him after the third nightmare, Papyrus said he could handle it by himself and he was fine, but later when Sans crept onto the couch with him while he was half asleep, he didn't shoo him away.
(This is entirely platonic by the way)
Sans is wearing a Duskull hoodie, haha. Papyrus drawn to dark sweaters, they make him feel grown-up for some reason (cough Gaster cough).

Good old sleep paralysis... I've had that a couple times in the past too.
For a while I was having nightmares where I would wake up yelling, look around, realize I'd been dreaming, then immediately fall back asleep... only to repeat two or three more times.

I really love Papyrus' expressions here. Poor babby. He tries so hard to be brave.
You know, in these post-Gaster-erased-from-reality handplates comics I can't help but imagine Gaster just off to the side, unseen by everyone, making snarky commentary to himself because he has literally nothing else to do.

Hm. I've found that I preferred modifying an affirmation, "My body is asleep and my mind is awake" to "My body is asleep and my mind is 'aware.'" That seemed to make more sense.
So you're saying that when you come to a realization that you may be dreaming, you wake up? Do you do reality checks during the day and stuff? What's your technique?

I don't do any reality checks or nothin, haha. Usually what tips me off in a dream is trying to scream and not being able to.

Maybe you should try some theta wave brain entrainment on Youtube. It'll put you in a state that's more stable in the "in-between", perhaps.

So I guess either the solution is to not try it when you're at that time of the month, or perhaps it's some psychological stress related to sexuality? Do you, for instance, resent that you get periods, or otherwise not like being a woman (or should I say, female-bodied person)?

Haha nope, I like being a lady. |D I DO only have half a reproductive system due to an illness as a kid though, but most of the doctors I talked to said that shouldn't mess up my hormone levels TOO bad.

Awww... I love how you portray their closeness as brothers, in so many of your works. Your art style is beautiful too, and you manage to make their simple faces so expressive. I know Sans must be a challenge since he's stuck with a perma-smile, so kudos to you for managing to convey so much through his eyes and body language. I always feel sorry for them when they go through hard times, and then feel so warm and happy when they comfort each other through it. *hugs them both*
