Mercy nonsense again ! Sick burn on Gaster there, Asgore. I couldn't decide on which ending to this I liked more so here are both of them for once, why not.

If I ever have kids, I might try talking normally to them instead of that baby-talk nonsense too.
It's called a cat, not a kitty or meow-cat, it's a horse, not a horsie or neigh-horse, it's a bird, not a birdie or tweety-bird.
Not exactly the kids' fault when they start in school or kindergarten and can't talk correctly or call certain animals -ie names.
In my country we tend to call animals by their sound and then their actual name, like wow-dog, neigh-horse or tweet-bird.
Not sure how it works in English speaking countries, but my guess is the animal's name and then the -ie ending.
No idea what they do in Japan, but I can imagine it's something like the -chan ending, like neko-chan (kitty-cat).

Actually, they've found in studies that it's very important to use baby talk for babies! Baby talk uses a particular tone and pitch of voice that holds babies' attention and helps them know you're speaking to them, not just making random noises. It also tends to use simpler combinations of words, which is good when you're a baby and just starting out. I'm willing to bet it's important for the baby's emotional development, too--baby talk just sounds more affectionate and safe than normal speech. There's a reason almost all parents use baby talk, without even having to learn how! It's most likely a built-in biological instinct for nurturing our young. And usually people gradually shift to more "grown-up" language as their kids grow, so it doesn't hurt the kids. There's certainly no harm in calling a cat "kitty" or a dog "doggy" in kindergarten, adults do that too sometimes. ^_^
You're pretty close on the English names--baby talk usually uses "cute" versions like doggy, horsie, kitty, fishy, bunny, etc. But it doesn't work for all names--nobody would say "cowy" or "tigery."
I think in other languages they also use "cute" versions of words, or diminutives. Could be an association thing or something--tiny baby, everything else you talk about will also be tiny. P:

I suppose it makes sense when you say it like that. I'm autistic, so it's difficult for me to understand some things that are obvious to others. I can't talk to babies, coz I don't know what to talk to them about. I know it doesn't matter what I say, but to me it matters what I say. And the fact that babies don't understand me makes me feel it's a bit of a waste of time to talk to them. They have their parents for that.
I don't actually feel inclined to have kids at all, but I always have a sort of plan just in case it ever happpens, names included.
I have a hard time in general connecting to people. I have easier connecting to cats, even if they can't answer me to confirm they know what I'm saying.

Ending A made me laugh really hard. Just forces cuddling to occur by shoving Gaster's face right into Papyrus. And Papyrus looks so happy! So cute! But Ending B is pretty funny too. It's hilarious how he draws Gaster into participating in the baby talk (however annoyed and embarrassed he gets). I like how Papyrus gets overexcited and just chomps Asgore's finger at the end. I'm glad they were both included.
