The only time healing magic is used in game though is in certain battles where the monsters are being fair, and if your return toToriel i. Home with less than maximum hp. Alphys doesn't ever have a real reason to heal, well not around the player anyway.

This is a beautifully scripted piece. It's hard to capture the reaction of a good friend/colleague would have to something like this, but I think you nailed it perfectly. I particularly love how nervous but concerned-enough-to-bring-it-up Alphys is and how Gaster isn't speaking both out of pain and not wanting to explain.Β

Hmm... I'm kind of wondering how understandable Gaster's sign language is even with his magic hands. I think Zarla uses ASL for his sign language, but doesn't ASL rely often on movements of the face/torso to communicate the intent of the hand signs? Gaster's a skeleton, and... do skulls have much expression?
How would this language work for monsters like Moldsmals? They can only *sexy wiggle*!

It dooooooes and I did think about this a bit, mostly for when Gaster's facing away when his hands are signing. |D I'm guessing magic can fill in the gaps for the facial grammar, since they do say that monsters can express stuff through magic. Something something handwave something. There could also be a specific monster sign language that uses magic to fill in those gaps? I just use ASL since I have an easy reference for it though. |D
