Description
Someone wanted Asgore and Toriel in Sans and Papyrus's place in Handplates, and given the opportunity to draw them in the hospital gowns I went for it. I have no idea who Gaster would be in this scenario though... who could hurt such fluffy bbs? Gaster definitely couldn't...
Asgore, Toriel (c) Undertale: I didn't think very hard about this scenario at all honestly, I just felt like drawing it

Probably Altertale. Asriel made them both in that AU and he was their father.

A little, bit it is an interesting concept. The Skelebros are still skelebros, Sans just left the throne. Gaster replaces Asriel/Flowey in that AU and is also brothers with Sans and Pap.

ooooh, i like this! also, there's an au called Altertale where Asgore and Toriel take Sans and Pap's places, and in that au, Asriel is Gaster, so that could work!

Welp, in case we would go with the Altertale-scenario where the Dreemurrs simply were switched with the Fonts, Gaster would be Asriel
*Wellll......actually we could-

I mean, the best thing I can come up with is that they fall in the fighting of the Humans and whatnot, and these two are clones for Asgore and Toriel which he abuses by putting too much on them trying to make them like the psuedo-parents they were to him. >>;

"so awesome
and maybe Asriel could be in Gasters place?"
JacobCamerupt Β
Corrupted by his experience with humans, the Char-asriel combination stumbles its way home. Not badly injured enough to die, but in all sorts of pain, Chara unknowingly reaches for a Reset. In other timelines, they never discover this power, and it is only subsequent humans that unlock it. But in this one . . . Chara resets, and with the Boss Monster power behind it . . . things go very, very awry.
They emerge on the day after the barrier is sealed. Asriel has not been born yet, but Gaster recognizes a Boss Monster empowered with a human soul. His eyes then fall on the royals, who have been age regressed.Β
Oh. Dust.
He scoops them up and makes a beeline for Chariel. A million questions flood his mind, but the first priority is concealing Toriel and Asgore from the other monsters. They are already panicked and in disarray. He'll have to trust that Gerson can get them in order and reassured. He needs to sort out whatever magic has done this.Β
But when he makes it to the Boss Monster, he looks back down and can't quite recall who these young ones are.Β
Without thinking, he asks Chariel, "My King, where is the Queen?" The trauma of witnessing battle must be getting to him. He doesn't remember the King's son and daughter's names?Β
Chara has control of Asriel now, who is also in such shock that his mind is blank.Β
Chara has to play this carefully, and mine the young monster's memories, because if Gaster knew the human were in control, his hate would be paramount, and he would not cooperate.Β
Chara knows that Gaster is loyal to a fault. Chara considers angling around the point, but instead asks with no preamble,Β "A Boss Monster using human souls is powerful . . . but what if they were to use other Boss Monsters' souls?"Β

I was just running with their idea of having Asriel be the main driver of the plot instead of Gaster. I'm working on my own multi-timeline story, so I really wouldn't want to start another one. I bet you could find someone in the list to collaborate with, though . . .Β
Perhaps if I get any more inspiration for it, I will continue it here. (I'll tag you if that happens) Sometimes I do that for writing prompt accounts, continue writing drabbles that may not be fully fleshed out, but do feed off of each other. I got like 60 people following one of my threads once. Now that one did eventually get posted.Β

Gaster, dark master of the Monsters of the Underworld, the Skeleton King. A cold tyrant cultivating an army of Boss-level champions among Monsterkind for when the Barrier is eventually breached, and otherwise neglecting the rest of the population, who are mostly trying to get by and just live life. Asgore and Toriel, a pair of Boss Monster children recovered from the Underworld by Humans and studied (tortured) to learn more about Monster physiology, psychology and power. The scientists are the six "fallen children" of Toriel from the original lore (obviously various ages of adults in this context), and they have conflicting ideals as to what must be done about Monsterkind, and how the two subjects should be treated. Frisk is the explorer who supposedly recovered the two children, and continues to tread the edge of the Barrier, observing the situation on the other side.
Whatchu think?

One of the reasons Gaster is able to harm Sans and Papyrus is because they look like him and he hates himself, he blames himself for letting his family die instead of fighting (which would have accomplished nothing). There needs to be that "other"ness for Gaster added to the greater good that is protecting someone he truly loves (and denies to love) for him to act

Maybe they're chipped rather than plated, since they actually have flesh to cut into and hide chips under. Sans and Paps only had bone, so I guess Gaster had no choice but to give them external handplates.
