I just realized today that I never put this up here for some reason! Well anyway here's an old Half-Life thing. I wonder if Gordon ever has mixed feelings about the HEV suit, I mean it saves his life and all but that thing never lets him sleep, it's always shooting him up with drugs and such hahaPresumably a gekkoHunter's been throwing Gordon around into walls here.
As an added bonus here's another tiny little HL thing that seemed too small to make its own post but I've always liked it.

It's an interesting theory, though. There will always be speculation, especially with characters like Gordon who are mute, just what they are thinking.

I think it's implied that Gordon has worn it SO much that he's become addicted to it.

This is an interesting interpretation. Might sound weird, but I've never seen Gordon portrayed as vulnerable. Maybe angry, tactical, or just nonplussed, but I've never seen him cry once. Very nice.

I haven't played/watched a playthrough of any of the Half-Life stuff, but this hurts me badly.

Gordon Freeman has seriously been under massive amount of stress for a near constant basis since the Black Mesa incident.
He started out late for work and being yelled at for his lateness. Next, he is put into a test chamber with a giant glow lighting thing. Next, he accidentally causes the system to overload.
After that, he faces hours of constantly fighting alien monsters from another universe, the US military, and Black Mesa's massive OSHA violations. He watches his co workers die/reanimate at horrific flesh monsters. Finally, he is forced to go to Xen to fight even more horrific monsters.
Finally, after managing to kill the giant floating baby things, the G-Man nabs Gordon from time. The next thing Gordon knows, he is on a train in a horrible alien run dystopian future. A future that Gordon accidentally helped to create.
But Gordon is no longer just a scientist with a surprising amount of combat knowledge, he is now a MESSIAH that everyone is expecting to save the world.
And by save the world, I of course mean "put your life constantly in horrible danger."
Also Gordon now is also reminded he is now basically the G-man's slave who will have to follow every one of the G-man's commands.
It is a shock that Gordon hasn't just collapsed into a weeping heap as of yet from PTSD.
