This has been building for a while, it was bound to break eventually. Sans’s insecurities here are all things that have either been not-so-subtly implied to him (like here , here , here , here , or here ) or outright said to his face , and he’s also still haunted by how he was used to try and get Papyrus to kill something and how his most recent attempt to protect him ended in total failure . It wears on you. Papyrus has known about his "condition" since they were babybones but had no idea how deep his feelings about it ran.
(Way to not give him emotional issues , Gaster)
Papyrus has indeed had a scar on his neck since he had that neck brace . It may be hard to see at points but it’s there! He still has it in the future , even. And Sans did indeed tell Papyrus not to let Gaster get to him , haha. LOT OF BACKLINKS THIS ROUND
Sans is glowing a little bit of Papyrus's color there.

Yes, yes, this was inevitable; Sans has been bottling up his emotional issues for years (??) of comic time. He was due for a bit of a breakdown. Thankfully, his brother Papyrus'd him back into shape.
But...Sans curled up like a cat and leaning on his arms in those first few panels is endlessly amusing to me.

Hey, I noticed something. Papyrus refers directly to the Underground. We know that Gaster has tried to prevent any outside information from reaching Paps and Sans. Unless I'm missing something. I dunno

They know there's an outside already, and it's not unreasonable to assume Gaster referred to it as the Underground at one point.

Gaster actually collected all the pieces and glued his face back together, believe it or not! He lost a piece though which presumably turned to dust, but Sans regenerated it when Papyrus healed him up.

Just think of how much more ammo sans would have if he remembered his face exploding. Sadly enough I don't think he does.

That was a pretty interesting hapter storywise.
We get to see a good mental evolution for Sans, and we can now expect a physical growth.

I'm always impressed by how much attention to detail you spend on these comics, and how continuous these stories are. By far one of the most thoroughly composed AUs I've seen. It always makes my day when I see a new handplates comic posted. Good work!
