Oh no, don't you understand, They need to fulfill their quota of sorts of heavily villainizing the butch characters, even if they are more innocent one *cough*Lapis was primarily the abuser*cough*Bismuth did nothing wrong*cough*
But seriously a redemption arc for someone that hasn't (May whomever above forgive me for using Tv Tropes) crossedΒ the moral event horizon onscreen would be great and has the ability to remark upon one of the bests moments of the show that was Peridot's redemption arc.

lol i don't want to poke the hornet's nest that is lapis and jasper's relationship at the moment but after the time given to peridot i am OPTIMISTIC THAT JASPER WILL COME BACK
especially since everything is so different now! so many of her feelings and motivations would be turned on their head with the pink diamond reveal! she could lead to so much conflict! character growth! internal speculation! so many great storylines could come out of jasper confronting her old behavior and finding her true identity free on earth aaaaaa
