Something's a little off here...
Gaster always dressed and undressed them so they're used to people taking their gowns on and off. Sans in particular since he spent a lot more time in and out of the tube than Papyrus did.
We've actually already seen the book. Or at least, one copy of it~

I love how Asgore doesn't say anything for now, but you can see just from his expressions in panels 15-17 that he's thinking about what is implied when you find two children that have apparently never worn clothes. Also, the fact that they seem to have trouble understanding, seemingly, simple instructions, but easily understand a request to remove the skimpy gowns they were found wondering around wearing.

So if Gaster is erased from the timeline wouldn't that mean Sans and Papyrus should be erased because there is now no Gaster to create them

Its more like every event that happened with him still happened, but it just pulled him from those memories. So sans and Papyrus dont remember any of that because it was just them and Gaster but, if there was more people like Asgore, Alyphys, and Gaster, then it would still be the same just without him... Idk, i tried to explain what i think but ig it makes no sense xD

Um. Technically no. As they have interacted with a person other than Gaster, they can still exist. They will just have no memory of what happened, and what tests they have done and experienced.

Okay, but so theoretically, what does it sound like if Sans and Paps speak in their font text, but they also use Wingdings subtext? Is the WD a low background buzz like static with their primary fonts dominating, or the reverse? Because Gaster could identify their fonts, since they sort of learned WD from Gaster by babbling.
I'M INTERESTED. Lemme just study skelefont hieroglyphs.
