Spoilers: it does. Another benefit to doing these out of order! I totally referenced the final battle in Earthbound too, score.
This would probably be the first time they've seriously fought about something or raised their voices at each other. They're scared and in pain and aren't really handling this very well. No one is happy with this.
(Gaster isn't handling it very well either, not that he's going to admit it)
If you really want to feel bad, a lot of their conversation still applies if they were talking about you the Player, haha.

There aren't really very many good English onomatopoeias for really deep long gasps, that's what the first GGGHHHH noise is meant to be. Hopefully that came across? Oh well.

Taking back things that sound horrible, but are true, is kinda part of having a horribly nervous little brother or sister (I've had to do it once or twice with my little brother, He's autistic and has pretty bad anxiety). You care a bunch for your sibling and taking some things back/ lying does happen sometimes so there happier/less nervous.

Oooh, your brother has Autism? So do I! And I also tend to get pretty anxious at times, especially if I'm home alone and aren't doing anything or hear a faint sound outside that isn't even anything. At night I have a hard time falling asleep because I keep imagining dark figures i the shadows or outside my window. And whenever I try to calm myself down from these anxious thoughts, I end up thinking that simply thinking of these things will make them happen so I panic even more until I exhaust myself.
I personally don't want anyone to lie to me, but I also don't want anyone being mad or annoyed with me, because that just feeds my anxiety even further. The only one I don't have a problem annoying a bit is my oldest big brother, but I still don't like when he (rarely) gets mad at me or someone else and then rants to me because he knows I won't tell anyone about it. Nothing bad, I assure you, just some annoyance and frustration about certain things and he always feels better after ranting to me and I let him coz I like listening better than talking.
I don't particularly love or even like a lot of people, but I do love my big brother and my oldest niece as well as my mother. The other members of my family, I just like. I love our cat(s) though, too. Anyone else I feel distant to. I do like/love my oldest friends but I rarely see them anymore so it's more awkward when we see each other again once a year for the old students party at our old school, but I often still do talk to them, catch up a little, but they've kinda become strangers to me still. Some more than others.
And as you can see, I love talking about myself and my life if given the chance or getting prompted, even if unintentionally.
Sorry for the long reply, but I take great interest in Autism and ADHD because I have them myself and want to know more about them/want to know how neurotypicals view us and what they say about us.

For those wondering how Gaster put the Handplate on Sans, Sans' HP can reach a decimal. He would not immediately die if damage was done to him. His HP would reach a decimal amount. My theory is that Sans' HP is expressed as a fraction, so he may take heavy damage, but that can only be expressed in a decimal. The only thing that really makes him fragile is his 1 DEF. But I don't really know if Zarla supports that theory though.

Going back and rereading this comic, I find it kind of ironic that one of Papyrus's desperate attempts to justify what Gaster did is by saying "Maybe he was worried we'd get lost", considering Gaster actually can use the handplates to find the skelebros no matter where they are.
Also, rip my heart.
