"- Gimme your hands.Nappa's nose was still bleeding but his deep voice was calm and cheerful. Vegeta didn't look up at him.
- Nappa.
- Hm?
- Does it hurts you?
- Don't be afraid of that - said Nappa and laughed. - Gimme your hands.
Vegeta obeyed in silence. Nappa glanced at him and continued.
- Don't be afraid of blood neither.
- I'm not afraid.
- Good. You're far too strong for such a thing like fear.
Nappa began to carefully wipe the blood from the little boy's hands.
- From this day you always have to wear your gloves. That will defends your palms when you fire. Understand?
Vegeta nodded.
- Nappa.
- Hm?
- It really doesn't hurt?
- No, my prince. - Nappa smiled again. Vegeta pursed his lips and still just stared at his bloody hands.
- Me neither."

Well I like to think that Vegeta killed Nappa out of respect. Cuz Nappa a elite being defeated by a low class would have damaged his honor and pride. But being killed by Vegeta would actually be honorable

Ahh, yes, it's a lovely idea... But I love the others too, like, you know, Nappa simply tought they're friends but he was sooooo wrong... That's so tragic too.
But my favourite theory is Nappa pissed Vegeta off sooo much, so he really get enough and kill him. I mean, Vegeta helped him a lot (e.g. that iconic "Nappa, its a triiick!" scene...XDXDXD), but in vain, cause Nappa made silly mistakes again and again... and when he toootally knocked down, he just asked help like the're were the very-best-friends... wtf, you should know that's clearly not how Prince Vegeta works, buddy...XD

I like this stuff..but it makes Vegeta killing him back on Earth all the more disturbing. xD It's easier to think Nappa was a dick, and not a loving patient couch/father figure.. xD Maybe one little mistake, and Vegeta just held the grudge for years on end xD

Well... he is not really a father figure trust me.
Vegeta really tought Nappa is his father at first, because nobody said he isn't, and it's a good case for the king to hide his son existence from Freeza. But as Vegeta grows he will realize everything of course, and... you know, Nappa never see him as his son, and never loved him, he just loved his potential and power. So all this little story is about power, nothing more. Appearance cheats... Don't let it make you fool!

Like Nappa knew what he had to do when Vegeta's dad was killed (or perhaps he was the boy's trainer even before that), and he just did it without even thinking.
