How in the world do you make Super Sonic a badass and then make this badass even MORE badass? How did you do that, Morio? My heart can't take it...

Anyone who claims that Super Cyber Sonic is lame and pointless needs to get a quick cyloop from our blue-boy in this super form because I honestly can't think of any reason why this isn't amazing. This form was a necessity for Sonic to defeat literal death itself. As Sage told us in the original ending, It's retreating into space to regain its true form. Even Super Sonic won't be able to stop it. She threw him into the purple moon, but it wasn't enough until she sacrificed herself. The blue eyes were just the appetizer of this cyber form. When he went all out and got shot towards The End, THAT was the new form at full power. We saw a quarter of what this new power was capable of and man...I fell in love with Sonic even more after my love had increased before update 3.

And also...I told you that the cyber corruption wasn't a pointless subplot! Gotha~ Though I wonder if this was Sonic Teams' original vision for the story they had for Frontiers. Is the ending where Sage 'dies' the good/bad ending? Or was this always their intention, and they couldn't do it because SEGA wanted it to be released soon? Whatever it may be, I LOVE how Sonic acts in this form. We've already witnessed the spectacular badass moments in the titan battles, where these beasts show their true earth-trembling power and try everything in their might to defeat Sonic. But this little hedgehog obliterates them with amazing moves and showing off his signature cool nature. He had reached a new level of badass and didn't think the developers could top it. In this form, his movements radiate wisdom, experience, and fearlessness.

He displays a much more calm and clean way of fighting Supreme, knowing he is in complete control and has zero doubts that they will win this battle. In every titan fight you can do an epic quick-cycloop move, but with this new boss fight, Sonic puts Supreme between giant rings of golden wind, then snaps his fingers to crush this beast. I screamed and cheered like a little kid. That was one of the rawest things he has ever done. How can you not love this?
I was surprised that Sonic Team took the cyber corruption and turned it into a power-up to give Sonic a new form. And to those who believe that corruption is still pointless, allow me to explain why you're all wrong and the deeper meaning behind it.

The corruption happened because The End was locked inside Cyberspace. The only way to open this prison door was to transfer this energy to someone else. Sonic was the only one to escape this dimension, and it tricked him so that The End could escape. The towers on Rhea island were the locks, and every time Sonic disabled one, the last bits of cyber energy went into his body until he was trapped between realities, just like The End was. The scene where his friends sacrifice themselves to disable the corruption DID NOT RUIN THE STORY. The reason people keep explaining why is because it 'went too fast' or 'the typical power of friendship crap.'

First of all, the 'too fast' complaint is lame. And second, as I've stated, Sonic got tricked. Many movies/TV shows have turned the power of friendship messages into something juvenile. It doesn't impact us the same way anymore because we've heard it a thousand times. But this moment of the story shows us that the characters are ready to grow after lamenting their insecurities and dreams to Sonic; now, they take the first step to make their hopes a reality and take a bold risk to save their friend because they know that no matter the odds, he will save the world. I always thought Sonic died in that scene, but he didn't. He was conscious the whole time as he thanked them later.

Now for the deeper meaning. I wonder if Sonic Team, Morio, or Iizuka intended this. But the whole story about cyber corruption being turned into power resembles a quote from Nāgārjuna. "turn poison into medicine."

This power, which made Sonic suffer through the worst pain in his life, was later turned into a new energy that granted him a new form to defeat death. He had to find a way, with the help of everyone, to accomplish this, and that journey was challenging. Instead of using pain as a reason to give up, understand what it is trying to teach you and turn it into energy to reach your goal; use it to find peace.
Again, I don't know if that's what they were going for, but Japanese people are one of the most artistic people in the world and find meaning in almost everything.

However, does Sonic still have this power? The leader of the Ancients warned Sonic not to use it recklessly, or it would leave his body. Or did the energy of this new power knock him unconscious after he got shot towards The End? I'm curious if any abilities or cyberspace energy are still inside him. Whatever may happen, I'm excited to see what they'll do in Frontiers 2.
