Here's another digital character illustration of a Disney Princess. We have Merida and the wisp* from Brave.
A few weeks ago, I watched Brave and I loved it soo much and it just feels so warm and loving to watch it again. So I decided that seeing artists draw Brave in their style, I wanted to draw Brave in the accurate 3D animation style. I knew it was going to be tricky especially with the hair - no doubt about that. The background was the first part I did and I did quit a bit lazily, I have to admit as I wanted to get in with doing Merida, but I added as much details as I could but I wanted to blur it so I focuses more on Merida and the wisp with tree behind them. I actually enjoyed it and I say this with suprise as I thought it would get overwhelming at times but it didn't. Now what you think might've been the hardest part of the illustration, which is the hair, is actually not! For me it was getting the face's shading and blending of the shading difficult but managed to just about get there. It's not perfect but I didn't want to overload it with shading. The wisp is also what I thought would be hard but it's not because its simple really. I changed her dress to make it look like her main one as a personal add to it. 🏹✨👩🏻‍🦰🏞️
I was shocked with outcome of this! It to me looks real like the real 3D animation and so I'm super happy about that! And I'm loving the hair!! I think that that's the best part of the illustration I'm happy about most. Close-ups of the illustration in slides 2 - 6. Also time lapse is up on my IGTV with again 3 parts to it.
