Crash Bash is the best party game on the PS1. And until Ratchet: Deadlocked, it was the number one co-op game in my household as well. A little underrated, because it wasen't developed by Naughty Dog, so of course some people bitched about it. But I seriously think you can't play a better party game on the PS1 than Crash Bash.
Likewise, CTR: Crash Team Racing is the best kart racer on the PS1. This game was developed by Naughty Dog, so it didn't receive backlash. Actually, some people regard it as the best Crash Bandicoot game period... which I find to be an interesting opinion, but one I can sort of understand. It's a fun game that rivals Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing. Its sequel is more of the same, but with fewer tracks and a different character roster, as I mentioned before.
Like I said before, stay far far away from Crash Boom Bang. It's a party game that tries to copy Mario Party, and fails oh-so miserably. There's a reason it has a 37/100 on Metacritic.

Yep. Metacritic is USUALLY a good estimate of game quality. I wouldn't use it for stuff like Grand Theft Auto IV though. They rated that game too high, most would agree.

Looks pretty good, though Johnny looks a bit too white here if I'm being honest - he has a slightly darker skin tone to the other guys, yet here he looks about the same tone...
