Sports in general? I know this may sound like an odd example but sports fans tend to fall under a similar set of categories, with the "veterans" being overwhelmingly vocal. Replace "rookie" with "fair weather fan."

i don't do fandoms anymore. i mean maybe there was a point when i 1st joined tumblr i was in like a fuckton, or at least saw a fuckton, but no. i wouldn't say im really a part of any anymore besides creepypasta, splatoon, and steven universe, and even then im a fuckin freeloader that doesn't contribute much besides dumb shit like "hey what if ben drowned... was a squid" + bad art
steven universe and splatoon haven't existed long enough to have vets, while in CP im the grumpy 2 y/o shit who doesn't care if ben isn't there.

Ah, I understand. Of course, splatoon and steven universe has only been around for a little and still have growing fanbases, but the creepypasta fandom has really fallen into deep shit. I sorta made this like a meme and posted this to different groups just for fun.
But I'm a vet in cp and as much as I loved the stories that scared me till I shit diarrhea, now I feel like even the best stories are unappreciated and turned into something they're not supposed to be.
It's almost disgusting in a way..

Oh, fandom veteran means that you have enjoys the fandom for what it was originally was, I consider myself one in Cp since I really enjoys the thrill of getting the BEjesus scared out of me. Fnaf as well since I love watching different theories of the bite of 87 and putting the pieces of the story together!

Well Veterans and people like them either lost interest or were pushed out. Even someone like me, who has been in the fandom mostly for it's terrifying stories has considered leaving. I'm kinda glad I didn't but I find myself constantly switching between this and Mlp. I'm surprised narrators such and Creepsmcpasta and Mrcreepypasta are aware of this but still consider staying XD

seeing bronys having a fit, creepypasta fangirls fighting over who will marry jeff, makes me laugh. that's one of the reasons why i'm still in some of my fandoms.
