Description I don't get why people give Dinosaur Revolution so many crap for being so light hearted and almost comical. I mean, why do every dino documentary has to be just "survival of the fittest" or "eat or get eaten"? Why can't there be a bit of humour here and there?

You know, here's my analogy:
I like to compare dino documentaries to Batman movies.
Walking With Dinosaurs would be The Dark Knight, When Dinosaurs Roamed America would be Batman Returns, Monsters Resurrected would be Batman vs Superman and Dinosaur Revolution would be Lego Batman.
Why?
Because DR proves (at least to me) that you can have a silly yet enjoyable time with a source material that's originally supposed to be dark and ruthless.
Besides, the animation is good, the designs of the creatures are very colorful and original, the stories are interesting enough to keep me invested and there were some scenes i got some legit laughs.

Stumpy and Dinosaur Revolution belong to Discovery.

I know right? I'm quite fond of it myself, though I would've preferred it if it hadn't been dicked over by the network and had stayed as the more palaeontologically accurate TV adaptation of Age Of Reptiles that it was intended to be (I wanted to see a hadrosaur beat the crap out of a tyrannosaur because screw stereotypes!). Sure it's no Walking With Dinosaurs, but it's miles better than Monsters Resurrected and Clash Of The Dinosaurs.

Also, it's worth noting that the dinosaurs in DR are the most anatomically accurate dinosaurs ever put to television (so far).

Right! Why can't people just leave it be?

Agreeing with what you said: some people just need to relax and enjoy the comedy!
