I don't think that is necassarily true.

Merlin did lose his father because of Uther, but so did Morgana.

Merlin did not end up losing Gauis, Morgana, or his mother so I don't think they count. Freya was nice and everything, but didn't she turn into a mythical creature and kill innocent people sometimes? So I'm not sure if you can really blame Uther for that. I thought Will died because of some random jerks that didn't have to do with Uther at all.

Morgana in addition to the lose of her mother, which might have nothing to do with Uther, lost her sister and her druid friends were killed.

Another difference is Merlin had two mentors Gauis, and Kilgarah. And Lancelot was there for him. He also knew that according to the prophecy everything was going to turn out okay for all magic people in the end as long as he stayed good and protected Arthur.

The only thing Morgana had even resembling a mentor was her sister who was out for revenge. Not that Morgause didn't have good reason, I just don't think she provided a healthy learning environment. The only friends that were there for Morgana were the druids who, as previously stated, were killed or driven off. She also didn't know about the prophecy and thought that her and her kind were going to live in fear until she got rid off Uther. After that Arthur was still upholding his fathers policy so she figured that she had to get rid of him too.

This rant was probably just asking for trouble, but I thought that somebody should be on Morgana's side. These are not the only reasons Morgana hast to be evil, there are actually a lot more, but I only REALLY wanted to address the deceased friends thing that you did.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I was just pointing a few things out. I actually thought it was pretty funny when I first saw this, especially everyones reactions to Merlin's out burst.

hah. this thought had occured to me as well. shes all "yey lets kill arthur for betrayign me and taking my throne" um ok but he doesnt' actually know your his sister, he doesn't actually know you have magic and he doesn't actually know well anything so hw exactly has he betrayed you and he is uthur and igrain(queen of camelot) son. legitimate. so yeah it isn't your throne, so stop being so whiney and go hug merlin. i'm cirtain most things could be solved by hugging merlin. wow was that a rant? permabyhaps
