As the Remix Champion, KaeMcSpadden got to choose the Subject and Theme here, as well as contribute some ideas throughout the process. So credit to her for maestro-ing this remix.

Such an exciting thing to work on! Not only are these two franchises totally new to me, but I also stretched the style a bit to signify that it's an exception from the main, numbered series. Finding references for the particular period, region and lifestyle that Jade represents was quite an adventure - especially when trying to figure out how to interpret her staff. But I managed to include a few easter-eggs (even getting the Iris Network logo in there twice). Though, the absolute most fun was when stepping into Guillermo Del Toro's design style for Pey'j - it's like a style that encourages you to only be bold.

Here's the narrative behind this piece, written by Kae herself:

Jade's home world is protected by the Alpha Sections, but as they grew in power, they enforced a Fascist regime. Jade is a photographer who protects orphans whose families were taken away by the Alpha Sections, as a way to cope with the responsibility of acting as a mother figure and the effects of the regime, Jade imagines Pey'j and other fantasy creatures, as imaginary friends. After becoming suspicious of the Alpha Sections, Jade joins the resistance group called IRIS, to overthrow the regime. While on missions, Jade imagines Pey'j and other fantasy creatures helping her by guiding her through the mission to find the truth. Where she discovers dark magical forces are working with the Alpha Sections.
