Thanks, he was a tricky design to work with because of how much detail there is on him compared to Mega Man and Proto Man but he was a fun challenge either way!

I always had a soft spot for Wily Wars, it reminds me of the Sega Channel.
But yes, Mega Man and Proto Man are greatly improved.Β Bass' is kinda wonky/hard to read with the gold midsections kinda merging together.

It's a unique style I'd admit, though I'm not fond of it by any means I do see it's merits and appreciate the enhanced resolution and definition the style gave the NES characters and backgrounds. It's a shame that nothing more came of it than the Wily Wars game and that no one has pushed themselves to try and practice the style enough to become proficient in it enough to experiment with pixelarts and tilesets, all I've ever seen come from this style and 8-bit compression's of the character sprites and tilesets and rough approximations of what the Mega Man 4 through 10 robot masters would look in the style, some better than others. However, the Mega Man community has changed a fair bit since I departed briefly in 2013 so more people might be inclined to pick up this style, who knows?
I wholeheartedly agree with you on Bass' messy representation here, his design is so complex that attempting to cram all the little fiddly details into such a small sprite doesn't always go well. When creating 8-bit sprites of Bass I often just merge the golden trim of his chestplate and waist together for better clarity but here, with the slight increase in space and colour allowance I attempted to separate them just slightly to give the impression that both components are separate armor plates and not one conjoined plate. As it turns out it didn't work out too well. With a little more playing around I might approach an outcome that looks better than the current one.

Thank you, Proto Man was the one I struggled with the most since I didn't want to make his sprite too similar to Mega Man's.

Thanks, I think it's cool that Mega Man's sprites were designed to mimic the NES sprites as closely as possible, I just think that Mega Man's rigid, upright posture of his standing sprite is very awkward and uncomfortable looking. Proto Man's sprites are very messy on the other hand, I can't fathom why they thought that recolouring his Mega Man 3 sprites was a good idea, unless of course this was the result of a lack of time during development.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if I was going to make a good job of this style but I think I did pretty well.

Well they're technically not that adherent to the WW style, but they still look fantastic. I hope you make more of these, maybe expands these into full sheets with animations and everything.

That I can attest to, the graphical hardware limitations of the Megadrive are a complete mystery to me as I only have a surface level knowledge of how it all works and what would or wouldn't be possible on the SEGA hardware back in the 1990's. For these three, however, I used the robot master sprites from the Wily Wars game as a reference of how many colours a character could use, directly referencing Mega Man and Proto Man's sprites as well. With this I have gathered a rough idea of what would at least look authentic, but without comprehensive knowledge of the composition of Megadrive graphics anything I make is not officially Megadrive authentic quality.
As for more sprites, it is definitely a possibility that I could return to this style at a later date, especially since very few actually practice it like the SNES Mega Man 7 style, though it is not very high on my list of priorities but I'm not currently ruling it out as an option!

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of these resources, I'll give it a study if I come back to the Megadrive/Wily Wars sprite style in the future!
