Bough was having a good time at the party. He danced with Xarik, though the biped still seemed sad- oh well. He tried some sap, but not enough to get properly sappy, and poured the rest out.... Onto Cheeto. Oh well.

But then he saw them.
A kid- Chrome, Bough recalls- and a creature wrapped around his neck.
Hold on, it might not be a spite- He thought, but all the signs were there. Chrome looked tired, the thing was clinging tightly to him, and they both looked disgruntled at everyone surrounding them.

He was frozen in place. He couldn't let someone else fall victim to those... Horrible things. But by the time he collected his thoughts, it was too late. The two had already gone somewhere else. He only hoped that Chrome would be alright.
