The smoothness and the amazing detail of the skin in one beautiful picture is almost unbelievable!
Saying it's flawless... seems so... short!
I'm like the other guy...

Incredible. I'm a nut for black and white and this is a primo examply why. You called in Feel. When i first looked at the photo, the texture of her skin jumped out at me. Almost as if she's sprouting a rash of goosepimples...if she is, pardon my obliviousness, if she isn't, pardon my imagination...
All I wanted to do was to feel her. Yeah, yeah, she's got breasts. Your mother had breasts too, that lovebite on the left one? That's me!
Such a strong, sensual kick in the groin was unexpected and a bit unnerving.

Very well done! I'd love to learn a little about your conversion to B&W; you've got great tonal range here, and the texture on the skin is fantastic.

Really, I just flip it to B&W in Photoshop, nothing to it at all. Sometimes I will use the blue, or green filter, or red if I have some pink lips to deal with but for the most part I do nothing.
The trick is to light it dead on. If I showed you this picture in color it would look almost identical, except without the color.

Thanks for the quick reply; one of my personal assignments this month is "texture," so I'll see if I can capture something like that on my next shoot.

The big mistake most people make is shooting with diffused light. Everyone is lazy and soft-box crazy. They want it easy and don't want to figure out how to hit the sweet spot, (locate the penumbra).. but you get texture with specular light, not diffused light.
