I think I want to work on the sky more, it's too plain. All the purples are monotone.Also, I don't know what to do with the clouds. Maybe I will leave them alone, they sort of look nice.
EDIT: I changed it a little. I'm still not sure if I like the outcome.

I love the result here. Great contrast between both the darks and lights, but also the clean graphics and the sketchy pencil and paint. I definetley think your style cooperates well with this sort of digital work.

I like the idea and the story behind it as well. But painting digitally can be a massive pain, both for your workflow and your hand. It may be more beneficial for you to work in traditional mediums until you get your hands on a tablet. Watercolor can be extremely cheap and is great for experimenting with (the kind in tubes of course, not the type that looks like chlorine tablets).
But overall, its pretty sweet so far! Keep working on the story and the concept illustrations.
