Actually, that had already happened to him before I got him. I had to glue him back together and buy a replacement head (A fairly common break, it seems. The ridiculously-tight ratchet swivels in Silverbolt's shoulder sockets are partly to blame there, hence why I use Slingshot as a leg).
I have to say that filing down joint surfaces has helped a LOT. GPS compounds its brittleness problem by making the plastic swell slightly so that parts rub together really tightly, but filing has dealt with that and so now I can transform him and pose him without him breaking again.
