First of all this is Malik and not Desmond though he still looks like Desmond but he is wearing Desmond's clothes.This is a trade for who wanted a picture of Malik in Desmon's clothes and it might explain his odd expression
I know that Malik is missing an arm but i drew him with it because i tried it first without and it looked weird so in this pic he has both his arms. Strangely Malik isn't missing a finger in the beginning of the game which is odd since he is a master assassin like Altair and also has the hidden blade..but only Altair has a missing finger, and i know he didnt loose it in some sort of accident. But here he IS missing a finger

It might not be so odd considering that AltaΓ―r states he is Kadar and Malik's superior in both title and ability when they find Robert de Sable in the Temple of Solomon at the start of the game.
Maybe you have to be really good to be able to cut off your own finger while using the blade. 8)

Uh, I don't believe Malik was a Master Assassin in the beginning of the game. I believe he's like one rank lower (hence the white robes). I mean, AltaΓ―r says to him there: "I'm your superior, in both title in ability."
Still, who am I to nitpick? This is a great drawing! Keep up the good work.

Yeah me and amputees don't go lol, haven't really had much practice considering I've never really had reason to draw one

haha it feel like the only time it feels "normal" to draw people without limbs is when i draw Malik..everyone loves Malik for some reason but of course so do i!

Yeah I've never had any characters who have missing limbs, at least I can't remember if I do lol
The only person I've drawn without limbs is Edward Elric, except he kind of has metal ones in their place
