FINALLY my half of the art trade with the talented ~Grypwolf D: its about damn time i finished this >.<;; actually, i started before my computer spazzed last December and then i lost my old version :/ so it took some motivation, but i eventually started over. this one... doesnt actually look ANYTHING like the old one xD because hey, i think ive improved on my painting style since then :3 OH THE JOY OF GETTING LATE ART FROM ME 8Oanyways, this is her character, Devon, who she said it was okay if i tried to draw in human form, but after she said that, i was suddenly in the mood to draw canines again o.O so lol, i just drew him how he is. i really wanted to do something actiony involving his hand appendages ((because i am not too much into the whole draw-an-animal-just-standing-there type pics)) but i wasnt too happy with most of my attempts there
so i got a little cliche ((for my gallery anyways)) and just did a chalk brush painting with Devon standing there in front of a landscape scene. i DID try and get super detailed, though 
the original is 1200x1500 pixels and you can see the full view by hitting the "download" button.since Devon's fur is green, a color i think ive only recently done well with, i decided to use purple as the main background theme color ((since green and purple are complimentary)) just to see how well it turned out. i think the result was oddly satisfying. i also think the positioning of everything really gives it good eye movement, leading you to Devon's face.
well, here is one of my "action" pic failures for the trade--->[link] XP because i always seem to start more than one pic when i draw for people xD;; i just dont finish all of them... lol.
pic title comes from the Keane song because ive been listening to them a lot lately xD

the longest part to work on was probably the grass because i have too much pride to use grass brushes Lol

You're so lucky! There are some places with nice scenery around here, but for the most part there isn't anything that's truly breathtaking.

First of all, I want you to know that I don't actually really care how much you spend time with this. I wouldn't care If it had taken years! This is absolutely worth of all that waiting. Cosh this is amazing one. O_____o'
I did know you have talent and such but NOW you have exceeded yourself, man. I just adore way you have colored background and love water and... Devon looks so majestic and handsome....

Think you did a very amazing job on the character with all those details and also such a standing pose seems to suit him a lot even, if it might be a bit boring, but I like it a lot!!! Somehow I also like it how he looks done, since I like his head in that perspective XD Also great job on that fur, especially on the tail, because it looks amazing and real ( as always XD )!!!
That background is absolutely fantastic as well, like on all of your pictures!!! Can't believe you have that much patience to draw so many amazing details, like all the grass, just by hand without using any brushes at all... Respect!!! Also like the mountians and the water a lot and the color sheme for the sky is also beautiful, because it looks so soft and pretty and yet also a bit sad... But somehow I like that combination and I also think it makes the pic more interesting as well and it also gives it more depth!
So amazing job on this!!! It's a really beautiful piece of art!!!

lol, this is amazing. I'm glad to see you finally managed to finish it, but it was well worth the wait. The detail is gorgeous and the way you've done the character design (though much props to ~Grypwolf for that) is beautiful. The background is a nice compliment to the character, having a life of its own without taking away anything from the character itself.

I love the detail in this picture, I like the anatomy of this character, and the pose and expression, I love the colouring all the different colours and shades how they blend together, i love the waterfall it clashes with the background so much ! I adore the grass, such a great job, I can see you have put a lot of effort into this picture.
