This shot really is just beautiful. The emotion on your model's face combined with the muted colors and the lighting adds to the overall feel of the piece. I love how the wind is moving her hair as well. I think it makes the shot even more lovely.
Thank you for sharing this as well as well as the story that went with the shoot.

Aww... Poor Abby. And poor you! It's a great picture, regardless, and the memory makes it that much more impactful.

I think the shoot was a success because you got this picture as a result It is beautiful and melancholy in a way that feels real. Your model is very brave
Good job, and I hope your other shoots are not so difficult

very moving, the coloring, the background and the models expression seem to portray a deep sadness and deep thought of something missed or lost.

For someone shivering, she seems in deep thought. An intriguing photo and expression.

I still love this picture.
Of all your great works, this is my favorite.
Is there any books of it or way you'd allow people to purchase a copy/print?

The desaturation of color in the model coupled with the simplicity of the background create a beautiful pallet for a wonderfully interesting photograph. The model's facial expression (one of sadness and contemplation) matches the wind-blown hair (that emote similar emotions). Therefore, both on a conceptual and compositional level, this is a beautiful photograph.
Despite the conditions (which sounded very interesting and difficult!), this is a wonderful photograph. Very well done.

The way the frame is divided adds to the tension in your model's face (it doesn't matter that she may only be thinking of she's going to get warm; the effect is the effect). Well executed and engaging.

Japanese suffering is an endless fountain of beauty. It's terrible but factual and must be exploited.
