Description Many songs of sadness I once did sing
Melancholy feelings my voice did bring
A hundred tears the audience shed
And in the end the money for their bread
Took to the grocers, and bought tomatoes
Threw them at me, they bruise like potatoes
Covered in the fruit of a poisonous plant
I could not help but start to chant
A happy tune, once that brought smiles
To those who heard, for miles and miles
And bread money then, was gone and spent
On red and white roses, ninety-nine cents
But ouch! O' prickly thorns and spines they are
Leave me with cuts, scrapes and scars
It seems no matter what I do, people will react
Getting hurt in the process, just seems like a fact
