You won't believe me, but i was staring in these eyes for what seemed like forever. I felt so connected to him, kind of loosing himself in a sphere far away. Where is he ... he wasn't there, i could feel that indeed.I tried to enlarge this feeling with adding more contrast and unsharpening the background. I hope the strange feeling is still there while looking closely at the picture. The picture is desaturized exept the eyes. Darkness is ment to be, it just feels right somehow. It was taken at a local zoo.

i like this, as much as ive seen it ive never commented!..i dont think, but anyway, i read your description and what makes it kinda...funny, or weird, is that the animal looks wise... he has this white sort of beard and his fingers are wrinkled like an elderly person... thats awsome, great picture nik!

Ich bin hier bei ein luxbella's fav gekommen. Ich hab deine Arbeit gesehen und ich muss sagen dass du ein super photographer (sag man so? sicher nicht, aber...) bist.
Alle deine Photos sind sehr einfach, aber sehr tief (in GefΓΌlle). Und wenn ich die ErklΓ€rung lese, dann bringt das Photo eine spezielle Bedeutung. Ok, ok, ich bin jetzt fertig.

His expression is wonderfully human, like if he was playing with his nails while listenning attentively to someone's conversation. A lovely shot... you diserve to be choosen in the contest.

I never really liked any programs blurring ability. The high contrast looks good for this image. As far as desaturating everything but the eyes.... doesnt work for me. I think we need to look at the fact that because there is such a stark contrast, the orange/brown in the eyes give off an ominous connotation which subtracts from the fact that you say the 2 of you felt connected, maybe to the point of him feeling human.

thanks a lot for this long comment. the eyes were kinda the connection point between the two of us. He himself was los in "his" world, the B/W-world, the eyes were the only connection to my "colorful" world. thats basically why i colored them. again, thanks for your contructive comment

Wonderful photograph.
I'm glad you blurred the background, so then the focus is drawn to the monkey. And then the colored eyes draw the viewer in. Wonderful mood projection.
I might only suggest not blurring the background too much, since that could take away the focus instead of adding to it. But wonderful job, yet again.

Wow, seems so very intellegent and knowledgable. Probably laughing his ass off right now knowing something we don't. I'm loving the contrast and the isolation of the color in his eyes. Makes the whole photo seem that much more surreal! Great shot and clarity!

Excellent photograph. You know, some of the greatest challenges involve trying to alter the photo so the viewer can feel it as you felt it. Great call on a lot of the decisions you've made, they've turned an excellent photo into a superior one. Nice job & thank you for sharing. The insight in your comments helps as well.

I liked this piece most of all because it was very different and unique. A well suited title and good photography here. My one quirk is the eyes. They stand out nicely but maybe leaving the eyes in black and white, while not as dramatic might still have been just as effective.
