                 Chapter
4. saving Sarah

It
seemed as if it had been a mile we had walked when we were there but
I didn't care if I had to walk the world barefoot if Sarah was in
danger. I dashed to a bush and hid myself in a awkward position.
“Right! Now, this here is where they keepin' dat lil one”.
They walked to the door and heavily knocked. I wanted so badly to
burst out the bushes and make them leave but I knew I couldn't, so I
didn't, but my heart still beat like a drum and adrenaline was
pumping through me. “Sarah my little angel”, I thought, I
pictured her and winced, I really hoped Madame hadn't hurt her. I saw
Madame ask for something and the men handed her what looked like
money.

At that second Madame pushed Sarah out
and my heart skipped. I was happy and sad and angry all at once.
Happy to see my angel, sad to feel her pain, and angry, so
angry to see the bruises and the scratches and the tears that
streaked and escaped her eyes. They roughly took her small hands and
pulled her along toward the horses. This was my time, my chance, my
only chance to save her and hold her again. Sighing, I counted under
my breath: 3,2,1,...... I jumped from my bush and pushed the two men
behind the horses ,

I
almost laughed as the horses kicked them and they slumped to the
ground, groaning in pain. Grabbing Sarah's hand, we ran.
