Description
Told you I'd do a reference sheet!Flitterwisps are an open species, so you can make your own if you like!
List of traits for the sake of clarity:
The Flitterwisp shown has all common traits.
ETA NOTE: Since it's been brought up in the comments, the collective noun for flitterwisps is now officially a grace of flitterwisps. A group of them may also be called a rustling, though this is much less common.

This might sound stupid but is there any limit on how many uncommon and rares we can use on our flitterwisp?

Zene-Tyler In reply to WhilyStarly3 [2019-07-08 01:31:10 +0000 UTC]
It's not a stupid question at all!
Generally I think of the traits more like this: a rare flitterwisp is one that has multiple rare traits (and maybe one or two uncommon traits, or not). An uncommon flitterwisp is one that has multiple uncommon traits (and maybe one rare trait). A common flitterwisp can have one uncommon trait, or none, but no rare ones.
Thinking of it in those terms, I'd say 1 in 5 flitterwisps being an uncommon, and 1 in 25 being a rare is a good rule, though I admit with them being an open species it's not really one I can enforce.
Does that help?

So adorable! I would love to sculpt this with polymer clay ( or attempt to) if thatβs ok with you.

Sure! They're an open species, so you can design your own to sculpt if you want, too!

Pretty much just keep the trait rarities in mind. If something's not listed here, chances are it can't naturally happen (though if you're not sure, feel free to ask, there's always the possibility I just haven't considered the option.)

Oh. Like...if you wanna rack up the rare traits you have to pay for it?

Zene-Tyler In reply to MaJjiKu-NerD [2017-04-23 19:49:27 +0000 UTC]
Well, no. But if I start seeing a bunch of wisps with a rare or uncommon trait pop up, I might 'lock' that trait for a while. Wisps are open, so I only charge for my art of them, though technically that also means I have less say over what people do with them.

As far as the vestigial limbs, they're positioned as shown in 2 and 3, here:Β zene-tyler.deviantart.com/art/β¦

Do they form communities at all? are the proboscises prehensile?Β Can they make shelters??
π: 0 β©: 1
Zene-Tyler In reply to CosmicSlug101 [2016-02-13 17:43:15 +0000 UTC]
They don't generally form communities, though they can end up congregating in areas where there's a ton of food sources (read: lots and lots of flowers, such as a well-kept garden).
The proboscises do have quite a bit of flexibility, but aren't really good for grasping. They're more likely to find shelter in leaves or small spaces/abandoned nests of other creatures than build their own, as they aren't very good at it themselves even if the idea to try occurred to them (which, being not very highly intelligent creatures, it generally doesn't, but my rule with changes like that is if you can justify it, I'll allow it).

YOOOO like if an artist/druid character of mine sets up lil shelters and provides abundant food they could get a flutter of flitterwisps goin??
(And may I humbly suggest the collective noun of flitterwisps be flutter? Or grace? A grace of flitterwisps?)
π: 0 β©: 1
Zene-Tyler In reply to CosmicSlug101 [2016-02-15 07:32:24 +0000 UTC]
That'd absolutely be possible!
(And I think I like the idea of calling a group of flitterwisps a grace. I'll give it some more thought in the morning when I've had some rest, but thank you for the suggestion!)

Zene-Tyler In reply to CosmicSlug101 [2016-04-16 19:33:28 +0000 UTC]
Okay! Having given it some thought, the collective noun for Flitterwisps is a 'grace' or (much more rarely) a 'rustling'. Editing the deviation info accordingly.
