Since we are talking about "hi" we could talk about the word Farwell. It comes from the word "farvel" where "far" is short for "å fare" which means "to travel". So the word mean to wish someone a nice travel

The influence is there but we are missing some "z" and some "ü"

Norway had a lot of ship-traffic from Germany and Holland which have influenced our language. Scandinavian languanges goes under the category "germanic".
