Nice.
I love the focus point.
Gives the shot a lot of depth.

brilliant atmosphere, as many have said. It just reminds me of all those film noir/ganster movies sitting down with the (female) italian kingpin. nice one

I like simple shots like this, the minimal effect makes it more personal and interesting.
The shallow depth of field works very well in this, the young hands on a what looks like aged and rough surface gives it such a worn feeling. Almost a sweat shop/ detention center look. I don't know how to explain it any better I'm sorry lol
I like the positioning of the light over the arms and back of the hands, keeps it mysterious.

I knew they were lizzys hands. read the comment. I didnt want to say that because you didnt mention a name in the desc. I assumed you would have credited lizzy so I thought Perhaps just PERHAPS it was someone else with lizzy lookalike hands.
and i see no vase.
and trivial as this whole thing is. dont even begin to tell me i dont know my own girlfriends hands when i see them.
I simply take the curtousy of assuming that I COULD POSSIBLY be wrong sometimes.
take that as advice.
and please.. for everyones sake, stop talking to your friends like theyre crap.

my local store stocks dd-x, but not x-tol. very similar, dd-x i think would produce nicer results with the ilford films but i dunno.

DD-X is just a great developer for pushed films, handles the highlights and contrast really well. My lousy camera store told me that Ilfotec LC29 was DD-X which i didnt really believe but still bought. Turns out it's actually just a liquid form of HC-11
Grrr. I want dd-x dammit.
