Andrew looked over his shoulder to see Buck standing on the back of his legs, wagging his tail happily at him. "Seriously Buck?" he asked the stryx. "Lemme sleep a little longer will ya?' he added, turning back to rest on his pillows again.

Unfortunately Buck wasn't having any of that. It was morning which meant time to play. Walking across to sit on Andrew's back, Buck grasped a bit of Andrew's hair in his beak and yanked back on it.

"Och, Buck, you stop that," Andrew grumbled from the pillows. "We'll play later."

Not moving from his spot, Buck squawked indignantly down at Andrew before yanking on his hair again.

"C'mon, Buck," Andrew mumbled. "I ken what yer tryin' to do, but we ain't gonnna play now." Patting the spot on the bed next to him, Andrew tried beckoning Buck over. "C'mere and sleep Buck. Thirty more minutes then we can play the rest of the day."

Buck, figuring this was his only option, hopped down and snuggled underneath Andrew's chin. Whatever got him to get to play outsider sooner he'd do.

"There's a good bird," Andrew said, gently petting Buck. "We're gonna have to do something about that hair pulling of yours though, Buck," Andrew thought out loud. "I ain't too keen on being bald before I'm thirty."

Buck lightly pulled at Andrew's hair again, as if to make a point that Andrew going bald wasn't his problem. Andrew could only laugh.

Settling down the two fell back asleep for the rest of the morning, enjoying the warmth of the sun's rays as they filtered in through the window. There'd be time to play later, as well as every day following.
