this is not only filler but an update as well

for the pass 3-4 years, I've been learning about the concept of originality and inspirations on OCs and copyrighted characters. I even look at ex-Sonic characters such as Liliac from Freedom Planet 1/2. It's seemed all very interesting to me as i understood it; What if i could think of anything for Claws, beyond him being a Sonic fan character? I've decided to change up his Sonic design, and add something that isn't already thought up by Sonic Team.

My first thoughts was him being a dragon, though from what I've seen the dragon concept seem to be an overused ideology by many other fans, i don't want Claws to be a generic character again. The next thing was him being a frog, frog characters are pretty niche and growing trend to many people, though they didn't have much awesome quality as other creature characters do. The final thought was Claws being a entirely made up creature (some sort of xeno or something), i went back to my old stuff and took a look at my very first accepted design of Claws (back when i was in 3rd grade), he was all green, monster-esque, red-eyes, and black markings every where. I wonder if i could just recreate that classic design and turn it into Claws' newly rebooted design? That's were the "inspired" part comes in.

So I've went back to the dragon and frog idea and decided to experiment them by mixing the concept together. a Dragon could fly, has fearsome strength, horns, breath fire, lethal claws and tail, etc. a Frog can leap to many heights, has a soft, shiny, and slimy body, the extensive tongue, and a laid back personality. I've mixed the two and created, not only a new design but, a new race for Claws' Halotyxian origins. I still wanted Claws to keep some elements from the Sonic The Hedgehog design, so for the time being i'm keeping the hair style and shoes on Claws' new design.

As I went ahead and finalize the first version of his new design, I've wanted to extended his unique abilities to extract out his claws to fight. Claws now has these spherical black things on the tip of his fingers, toes, tail, his elbow, knees, and his back. At any time, Claws' can activate them into limb-like spikes. You've played Smash 4 and Fire Emblem: Fates right? Corrin/Kamui can use his limbs to activate his Dragon Fang technique, it's pretty similar to that. (thought Fates had nothing with the creation of this idea).

I've finally recreated Claws into a more truer original character, it was really fun to do. however this won't be his finalized design, as you see in the pic are his transformations. I'm still finding ways to keep it more apart from Sonic's Super and corrupted (Dark) entities. The top above is a top secret, and i won't reveal it until waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay later on.

Claws isn't the only one getting this treatment, i've already did redesigns for his crew, Paradox; Claws' nemesis, and one of the villains (Hint: has to do with Metalloid Claws and Metallia) of the Zenyth series. They've yet to be sprite'd in pixel art form.

With that settled, I'm likely to post my older sheets publicly to my gallery, since I've now moved on to the newer design, during Spring Break. That and I'll post an update to the mega sheet, a couple of other sprite sheets, and my goals that i'm trying to tacking in the deep future. also a special credit list, since it's known to be heavily complicated to keep doing credits for each fucking sprite or picture you do.

i'm also making site. it's an image board, not akin to 4chan or anything, but a "booru". 2-3 years back, people tried to resurrect the old Ning and Webs sites like VGMRulez, RevolutionSpriters, SonicFactor's site, and Novally's site, they all failed and never stayed up due to server limits and paying to keep the site up. Yes, a ton of old sprites were lost in history and web archives were much of a big thing at the time. It already has a forum and a gallery set up, and we can still do our own things like in the past. (now i'm trying to figure out how to change it's interface, i'm not much of a coder or anything)

anyways, i'll be off and will be back soon.
