Blizzard really needs to give the Alliance High Elves more love.
First, they lost most of their people, homes, and culture to the scourge.
Then they start to suffer mana withdrawal.
THEN those who were unwilling to taint themselves with fel energy become outcasts and pariahs from the few Elves that were left.
Even after that, the SunWell gets restored anyway, making their estrangement from their kin ultimately pointless; if they'd only toughed it out with Blood Elves for just one expansion, they would still be a unified people.

The poor guys just can't catch a break.

It's also a story of how kingdoms can still continue thriving in spite of all the crap thrown at them. Even after the Alliance got hammered by the Lich King, Deathwing, and Garrosh's Iron Horde, it was still in good enough shape to send the Burning Legion whimpering back into the void. Justice is all well and good, but strength and honor trump all.

Think of it this way; who had to bail the Horde out of it's own B.S. when their own warchief went bat$#!t crazy not once, but TWICE? And we didn't bomb any innocent cities along the way.Β

The best revenge is living well. And the Alliance is doing very well indeed.

I thought it was high elves that joined Alleria's crusade, not blood elves. :/

Alleria was all alone until BFA. Only then did some blood elves who dared to study and harness the power of void magic became void elves and were exiled from Silver moon and were then recruited by Alleria, who offered to teach them how to master void magic just like she did. So no, no high elves (at least not at first, but since high elves are allied to the alliance, we can assume that some of them might try to master void magic as well ( unless it was the affinity that the blood elves developped to fel magic that allowed to master void magic, but I don't think that kind of information is offered to us)).

the blood elves wereΒ  high elves so a blood and void could easily be related
