Description
Although the rules stated that the NVIDIA® claw did not need to be the main focus of the piece, I decided that the claw would be otherwise distracting if placed on anything else. ‘Why does only one marble have that logo design on it?’, ‘Why is the shape of the meadow over there in that unnatural shape?’, ‘Oh I get it! His tattoo is the logo…’It’s an odd thing to think about, but in trying ways to make the logo NOT the main focus, it soon becomes it. That is why I decided to make the mountains in the shape of the logo. Clearly being the largest objects (and actually the main focus) of the piece, the logo design is passed over. Instead of being the logo, they are odd shaped mountains that nature clearly did not make and yet somehow took over. This idea came from seeing old ruins. Many critics of modern day architecture complain that steel and iron that we use to build fortresses and office complexes contrast with the natural order of life on Earth. I found, when looking at old ruins, that they too seemed to somewhat stand out compared to the landscape. The only difference was not that they were made of stone, but that nature had eventually won.
In this piece, there is the process of nature taking back over. Modern day architecture and the likes are represented by cubic shapes that are being overgrown by vines and fungus. A piece that has meaning speaks visual.

This is an interesting way of constructing the Nvidia logo... nice thinking outside the box The cubic construction of the arches really works well!
