Description
This is a Fakemon. It is my original work. It is not owned by GAMEFREAK, Nintendo, The Pokemon Company or any of their affiliates and subsidiaries. You are not allowed to use this in any form.--
Introducing the Grass starter evolution line of my region, Asnolv.
:: Based on Grizzly bears.
:: Boscub >> Timbruin (Lv. 16) >> Urseval (Lv. 38)
:: Etymology ::
.. Boscub's name came from "boscage" + "bear cub"
.. Tibruin came from "timber" + "bruin" (Dutch; brown)
.. Urseval came from "ursa"(Latin; bear) + "valiant"
In order to complete my dex faster, I won't be drawing my Fakemons in Sugi-style. Instead I'll be drawing them in chibi and cartoon style. I won't be giving much details about them too, so you can speculate.
The style is inspired by this picture from Pixiv: www.pixiv.net/member_illust.ph…

This is amazing! I've seen these before and I'm so glad I found it again.
I did read the part where you said you don't want people to use it in any form, but would it be ok if I showed this in a video I want to make about my favorite fakemon starter art? Needless to say I'll credit you in the video itself when I show the pictures, as well as provide a direct link in the description.

Aw ok, too bad. I do respect your decision, but I was wondering why? If I could design Fakemon like that, I'd want as many people as possible to see it, as long as it's clear that it's my design.
Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm simply trying to understand your perspective.
In the meantime I'll just geek out over your dex haha

No particular reason.
But thank you for understanding, and I'm sorry for the disappointment.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Good thing that idiot's banned. My watermark is there and he's saying it's free of use? Oh man. Why do such people exist...

How do you get such smooth lines?? vectors or practice??
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
zephleit In reply to alexcoleman7 [2013-04-11 12:41:02 +0000 UTC]
Do a continuous stroke.
If you're gonna draw a curve, do it in one stroke.
If you're gonna draw a straight line, draw it in one stroke.
Also, practice.

ok! Thanks a lot!! Do you have any special brush settings?.. hardness 100%, opacity 100%, and no pressure settings... Am I right?

zephleit In reply to alexcoleman7 [2013-04-11 23:50:55 +0000 UTC]
There's always pressure involved since it affects the thickness of the lines. I really don't meddle with the pressure's settings.

cool! I just found out that there is a setting to smooth the lines out that give quite a nice effect... do have this kind of setting?? or are your lines so smooth only by hand??
Thanks you so much for answering!! I've improved my understanding of digital painting so much thanks to your answers and I'm using the cartoons you used as a reference style to practice my line art and a bit of colouring! If it's annoying for me to keep on asking questions please tell me I can get a little carried away

Varpukonna [2012-01-25 18:20:34 +0000 UTC]
excuse me, but how you make those arts? Do you use paint or photoshop? Do you scan them from paper or something else...? And then.. CAN I USE THOSE PLATFORMS LIKE YOU?

zephleit In reply to Varpukonna [2012-01-26 00:26:13 +0000 UTC]
I sketch them on a paper and scan them. I use PaintTool Sai and Photoshop to do everything. ^^
Sure. You can use those platforms too. The idea of the platforms aren't originally mine and was inspired from someone else's work.

Hehe. I'm too lazy to draw them in Sugi style since it's more time consuming. Plus, I want to complete my dex faster.
