Königlich T.T whyyy are there no ö allowed in the title D;

tried out a new technique for this background xD also I've never overpainted my linearts before so this is also new haha
let me know what you think ~

Story:

Quite a while before the halter competition started, Lia had already started grooming Queeny. After all, Queeny loved being groomed and also liked presenting herself - but no way she could show herself without looking perfect! Even though Obertaurers were usually desired to leave their mane wild and open, this mare definitely didn't like this rule, so Riley was glad it was allowed to braid and add decorations in this halter class, otherwise he would have had a hard time leading a pissy - no, 'offended' - mare around.
It turned out that this mare's attitude could be a great perk, too indeed, at least ever since Riley had figured out how to treat her. You don't tell this mare what to do or where to go, no, you ask her to follow - only then she will. Their bond had become close enough so that he barely ever needed to lead her by a rope or similar.
Lia stood there, watching them in a giggle as he 'asked' her to walk beside him out into the 'ring' only with a movement of his arm. She nudged Zazu, who was standing right next to her, with an elbow so he'd lean down to her: "Aren't those two just the funniest." He raised a brow looking at her: "Hm? You mean the 'being treated with respect is the greatest priority'-thing?" He grinned. Lia laughed. It really was that obvious, wasn't it. "Mhmmm aren't they just made for each other." Zazu chuckled. "Seems like you two gotta hurry up getting married before he changes his mind and marries the horse." They both burst out laughing.
UUHHhhh but they apparently forgot about Riley's precise hearing skills. He shot them both a death glare, which only resulted in them being unable to stop laughing and giggling. Riley rolled his eyes and focused back on his mare. "They just don't value respect like we do, am I right?", he whispered to his mare in a subtle smile. A silent approving snort could be heard. Just because she was a horse, why should she be treated with any less respect than those weird two-legged beings? "Right." Queeny couldn't be having a better handler.
