Personality: Intelligent but his sarcastic and lazy nature get in the way. He tends to joke around and his love for Digimon makes him a competitive player in a TCG game. He also has a tendency to jinx himself and becomes quite a pessimist when it comes

When on field Takeru turns serious, and focuses his strategic mind to overcome any issues arising during combat. He attributes his tactical prowess to many years of strategy video and tabletop gaming. When he is around close friends and family, he can bicker to no end, and loosen up showing a more outgoing version of himself, a stark contrast to the person on the battlefield or when his solitary in campus computer labs.

While Takeru isn’t the first person to volunteer for any mission deeming to strenuous, he will be the first person to stand and aid anyone in need. Loyal to the end, he won’t turn his back on someone in trouble, even if means going out of his comfort zone.

Background:
The Past: Family and Childhood
   Takeru attends High School and lives with his mom, dad, and younger sister, an elementary school student. They currently reside in Aikawa, Japan and they have lived there for the past seventeen and half years. Prior to the birth of Takeru, the newly married Momoko landed a job in Aikawa as the local meteorologist while Taijiro was able to was able to continue to work for his IT company from home. It was during those early years and exposure to the world of technology, Takeru’s love for programming and video games began.

  Fast forward 7 years since he was born and a new member of the family has been added. Her name is Midori. She brought more excitement to the Miyamoto household. The excitement did not last long as it was around the same time Taijiro’s work with the company was growing. He frequently left for business trips to city and at times other countries. This meant leaving the children to stay with Momoko alone at home due to her having to take a pregnancy leave from work. The three of them grew close taking care of each other and and when Taijiro returned, it was as if the tension in the household was gone.

  Another 7 years of the same family dynamic and Takeru finally learned his father’s reason. He was doing these trips for the family but he couldn’t understand what the difference was when his mother did the same thing. She was able to be at home more often than he did. There was something that did not add up. He confronted his father one day before leaving for another trip. Takeru asked question about all the traveling he did and what he really working on. Taijiro listened tentatively and replied, “Check your email. It’s about time you learned something.” Takeru nodded and was about to head to his room when his father interrupted him. “Not so fast. Remember this one detail. We are all digital.” Takeru raised an eyebrow, “Wait, what does that-”
Before he could finish, Taijiro left repeating those last words.  

The Present: A Digital Encounter
Years passed in a sleepy town of Aikawa, Takeru is currently in his 3rd year in high school and he aspires to be a programmer/game designer. He spends his days at home on a new desktop, toiling away projects and when he's outside he carries his laptop to continue what he started. Takeru and his father continue to communicate long distance via email and phone calls.

  On one of these sleepy days, a message with an unknown sender was sent to Takeru. “A surprise inside if you can solve it” was written in the subject. Thinking this was sent by his father, Takeru spent his day off cracking the code. Asleep at his desk, he awoke to an alert message.

To: Miyamoto Takeru 
Subject: Re:
Sorry I couldn’t get off work to email you sooner. I have bought you three train tickets. I want you come visit me at work. I have a surprise for you. Think of it has an early birthday gift.
  See you real soon, Dad.
  Smiling to himself, Takeru knew the message had to be from Taijiro. He yawned and jumped to bed, knocked out by tired eyes. “I solved it dad. Happy Birthday to me…” Deep asleep Takeru did not hear the computer hummed and materialized a crystal shard. It glowed purple and a voice spoke from inside the computer. “Observation protocol achieved! Crest of Knowledge downloading…”     The computer hummed rhythmically, “Download complete… Sending confirmation email… ” The computer’s fan slowed down. “ Welcome to the Sol Faction. Soon my debut will be imminent~”

   Takeru muttered between snores, “Be quiet Midori… I’m sleeping here…”     “It’s so nice to meet you too Takeru.” The voice said dryly. “We’ll get to meet in person real soon.”

  Pressing the number keys furiously, Takeru sputtered the first words off the top of his head, "How's the city life like? Has it turned you two into mindless shopping drones?"

A little girl's voice spoke with an annoyed tone, "Yeah! Mom became one too."

  Momoko and Midori are already in Tokyo doing a bit of shopping. A bit annoyed they left without him, the youth said, "Don't show me what you bought. I don't want to cry myself to sleep tonight."

  Midori let out a laugh. "She won't stop talking about these '10-for-10' deal on heart boxers." The girl giggled. "Merry Christmas Take-butt!"

  Takeru clenched the phone in hand still listening to his sister talk. "Aww. I better take a picture of it and send to the family for New Years cards!" Becoming fed up with her and about to speak, Takeru is interrupted by Momoko sighing, "Now, now. Please don't cause a scene you two."

  Letting out a sigh, Takeru said, "Yeah, yeah... Tell dad I'll be there soon. Summer just started, so don't start the fun stuff without me!"

  A series of beeps was heard on Midori’s end. “Take we gotta go. Mom’s paying now. Heh heh.Tell dad we said hi!” The next sound was the dial tone.

  “Next destination Odaiba… The place where I’ll find the truth."

  “You mean where we’ll find the truth.” The voice crackled from Takeru’s cell phone. “To think you left me behind! Don’t forget your shard!”
 A purple shard materializes from the phone followed by an small furry digimon.

  “I told you not to come out! Takeru freaked out and shoved the fluffball in his bag. “People will see you.”

  The man made island of Odaiba is seen out the window. The passengers watched silently as an amusing scene unfolds. The new tamer will begins life with creatures known as digimon digital monsters.

  “Soon I shall return to my adoring fans!” The blue puffball jumped out of the bag.

  “Stop moving around and sit!” The tamer stuck some candy in her mouth. “Eat it and be quiet.” The small digimon spit out crunched up pieces of candy at Takeru’s face. “Joy… This world has to be trolling me…”

Midori: The sparky little sister who gets Takeru in trouble all because he is easy to anger. The two compete to see who can each other in trouble. “If my bro isn’t chowing down on who knows what, then he’s getting a talkin’ to by mommy! He’s so lazy and makes horrible jokes. So don’t believe what his says.”
