I like this Try using a bigger brush with a lower opacity to make smoother transitions around the nose and lips. You have some good stuff going here! Her eyes could use a could sharp edges to pull you into them!

Thanks! I agree on the (lower?) lip, the transition could be a bit softer. However on the nose you'd have to point out where you don't like it, since I like the value differeces in the nose even if there are some rough edges (tho I now see one bit where I should have made it a bit smoother), I think that gives her the hard character Eva tends to portray.
Agreed on the eyes tho, could have used some more value differences to pop them a bit more (specially the leftmost one I think).
Thanks for the critiques! I'll try and learn from them!

I am painting a double portrait of me and my fiance, and I tend to make the eyes my hardest edges of the face because they are the most important part of any portrait. Edges are probably the second most important part of a drawing, even if we don't think about it. Try squinting when you look at a reference and notice which edges blend and blur away and which edges stay sharp. That's how you can tell what edges to emphasis.
I just felt bossy, I hope you know I'm just saying this to be helpful. The portrait really is amazing!

Hah it's okay laura, I am a grown up man, supposedly at least, and I can take criticism. And it is a good point, like I said. Much appreciated!

Thanks Clave! But sexy women are stylish on their own so it's not that hard to portray them
