This page is so amazing. Nothing's even really happening except Sans falling to the floor, but it's one of my favorite pages. If 20 layers in photoshop makes things look this good, then by all means, keep layering!

The cracks came from when flowey hit him with his vine, and Sans slammed his skull against a pillar. That's a big part of the reason his HP was at 0.46 a few pages back. :3

The Forgotten are not Chara. Chara hasn't showed up in this comic yet. The souls in his roots are the Forgotten possessing Flowey. We don't know who the Forgotten are, because everyone who appeared in Undertale is out. They said on page 197: "Trying to piece it all together? But you cannot, can you? Because we are not Flowey... Not Asriel... And not even your dreaded Chara... No. No, not him either. (referring to Gaster) We are unknown. Forgotten, long before any others were lost." I don't mean to be the party pooper, but that whole theory is wrong.
I don't have a clue as to who they really are, but I do know that they date all the way back to the War of Humans and Monsters talked about in the game's intro. (page 247 for evidence) All I can say for certain is that they want to change the timeline so that the War never happened, but they need Frisk's resets out of the way first, otherwise it would be pointless to change anything because Frisk can just reset and delete it all.

I wasn't disregarding that fact. Its just that that statement is completely irrelevant. Yes they would be in tears about Asriel coming back but it wouldn't alter the story too much. Chara would continue to exist as a memory and would eventually be forgotten as the monsters settle into their life on the surface.

that gets me thinking, flowey has lots of "determination" right now, what with the forgotten corrupting him...
does that mean he might amalgamate? cuz doesnt that happen when monsters cant support all the added DT?
i dunno, just a thought i had.

Oooo, that's a very good thought! But...If I am not mistaken, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, because Flowey is actually a flower not a monster anymore, he can't amalgamate? Since his body is made of solid matter rather than a mix of matter and magic he won't start to melt from too much Determination. I think anyway.

like this one i had a while ago: so, yaknow how flowey says, "ya see that little red heart?"
well, that must mean that frisk can see her soul outside her body: and manuever it through the obstacles. that means that theΒ battles, the monsters are attacking your soul without your physical being ever being hurt. so when you "hit" a monster, does that mean you just have to get close enough to them to strike while still dogding attacks with your soul? idk, lots of weird stuff is piled in my brain. hah!

Well.... The only reason Flowey as we see him in the game can handle determination, is because he isn't a monster. He's a flower with Asriel's dust. A flower is neither human nor monster, but it definitively has physical mass. Which was the issue with the Amalgamates. Alphys says it herself: "You see, unlike humans', monsters' bodies don't have enough... Physical matter to take those concentrations of "determination." Their bodies started to melt, and lost what physicality they had. Pretty soon, all of the test subjects had melted together into... Those.".Β I don't think The Forgotten can make Flowey stop having physical mass. And I actually never saw any proof of The Forgotten actually adding any Determination to Flowey. From what I could see, the only thing they did was give Flowey a couple of their souls (They probably weren't their to begin with though, based on what information I have available). Monster souls more exactly. And because they're monster souls, that means they couldn't have added any Determination either. So I don't think that could happen.
