Well... Better late than never, eh?

I apologise for the gimondo image...
Any smaller or a more optimized file would have compromised the details of my /wonderful/ old arts... *gag*

This thing was originally started by , I believe...

2 things stood in the way of completing this task; motivation and time (both categories in which I am sorely lacking)

The contest is over now, but I did it more for personal benefit anyways...

And I /did/ get did done...

So now you all may cower before my OLD FARTS!

Numbered picture & corresponding description:

1. This was the /very first/ most original form of Zerix EVAH... Yah... Cuz I didn't date my pictures for a while, I have no way of knowing for sure when it was drawn, just that it is older than dirt... or this year's loam, anyways...

2. Okay. Here we're getting into a more defined look; long ears, tail ring... Still quite basic, but it's evolving... (Actually, I think that this was drawn /after/ pictures 3 & 4, just judging by the styles...)

3. Done during my Neopet phase. The marking behind the eyes are in the shape of a 'Z', which related to my user-name at the time... Don't mess with her! She's got a dragon-headed STICK!

4. I /think/ this was also around the same time as #3. But I changed the tail ring and added a bit o' floof to the tail. Colored pencils are love. I thought this was the /most awesome/ picture I ever created at the time. (close up can be viewed by clicking on this hear... clicky... thing... [link] )

5. More change now. A different pattern 'round the eye and purple feetz! 8D The other character is my dear friend who goes by the pseudonym of Colia. And the shadow behind Zerix is another friend referred to as Xiver.

6. Eww! What IS that!? Crayon?? What happened to my beloved colored pencils?? 8(

7. I usually end up seeing movies much later than they originally premiered... Just don't have the time, I guess...
This drawing occurred when the Pirates of the Caribbean craze finally hit home. And, I must say, it didn't turn out that bad... It was at this time that I was using some sort of random photo editing software to clean up / edit my scans...

8. Zerix gets back to her tiger related origins with stripes. I’ve discovered MS Paint at this point! *dies*

9. Now, I’ve begun to explore Paint Shop Pro a wee bit. And have a different eye marking to boot.

10. Sorry for the itsy-bitsy image here. This is when I began combining the forces of MS Paint and PSP. I would draw it in Paint, and add highlights, etc. in Paint Shop Pro. A tactic to digital painting that went on for quite a while.

11. Entirely PSP from start to finish, WITH use of smudge tool. I remember thinkin’ that this was THE BEST DANG PICTURE ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET…

12. More smudging fun. This time, without those grotesque outlines.

13. Shamelessly copied from a picture Goldenwolf did of canis lupus in that exact same pose. I’m sorry Goldie. I didn’t mean any harm by it. I was just young… and stupid…
...Mostly stupid…
Here was a point in Zerix’s design when I was debating weather to keep her as a feline-esque creature, or turn her into a wolf. I’m glad I kept her the way she was…

14. Yay!
She’s got a forked tongue now. I was mixing a bit of dragon into her heritage here.

15. One of those ‘who am I’ / ‘finding myself’ pics… I like how the wing turned out with the scythe-like claw…

16. I like this one… It didn’t turn out too bad… I believe this was an Anthro phase…
Y’know what’s freaky? I bought a pair of boots a few months ago, and they look just like the ones she’s wearing now…

17. PSP coloring! Done for a 404 error page on my website.

18. Many hours went into this one. It bothers me that I never finished the ears, but I still love it…

19. The last picture I ever finished in PSP before acquiring Photoshop…
Granted, the latter has more elements you can work with, but I miss that muddling-around-having-no-clue-what-I’m-doing-but-making-a-really-cool-picture-and-stuff in PSP.
I might just restart that sucker and give ‘em a whirl. Just for old time sake…

20. First ever pic of Zerix in Photoshop… The fur didn’t come out too bad, and I’m still working on perfecting that aspect.

21. More PS colored pictures…
Colia from picture # 5 makes a reappearance! Yay!
This was an ongoing joke with my friend about how she can’t wrap presents to save her life. Although, in actuality, her wrapping jobs surpass all others and boarder on obsessive compulsive.

22. I wanted to make something glow… Glowy is fun!

23. The first character sheet I’ve made in… well… forever, of Zerix…

24. Another fur-job. This one didn’t come out that bad… I had to crop the picture a bit to fit it within the parameters of the main image. w00t. Detail…

25. A whole new Zerix design! The previous one didn’t quite fit anymore. I like this one much better. More intricacies to remember! Yay!

26. Back to my colored pencil roots. This one rocks my socks. The background could have been better, but otherwise, it’s great.

27. This one is awesome too. Details are so cool, /and/ fun to draw.

28. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand; The Finale!
