More homeworks! Last week we had to create a character and, since I didn't want to use one of mine, I started from scratch and produced this (stereo)typical thief/assassin/spy elf. The aim was to make a good or an evil character, and I went with evil... failing completely. -_- He looks more like a pesky nuisance rather than a menace. Welp, I tried.
(By the way, as I learnt during the most recent lessons and considering palettes, outfits and features, ALL my characters are evil! D: except Jay , maybe But pick B , for example: her appearance screams "evil" but she's actually a softie, really)
There's a little extra too - the hoodless version, just for your eyes! It wasn't necessary, but I felt like drawing him an hairstyle too ...that makes him look even less evil and too handsome compared to what I had in mind. =3=
Now, reread this and drink a shot every time I used the word "evil". jk
We had to make only the lineart, and I went with my super thick trait - despite the fact that will be painted over and disappear, my poor beloved thick lineart ;^;
Next step: grayscale!

Grayscale!... with too light skin. Damn it. (Hope I can fix that later on...)
This was a pain. I enjoy painting, but it takes waaaaaay too much time D: (Funny thing, I didn't really HAVE to paint over the lineart, I could have just left it and colour below it. But OF COURSE I chose the hardest way. *shrugs* )
So, after that, as a stress relief, I coloured the headshot my usual way
Next step: colour! (and a different style, good version of the same character)
(I'll update this, probably. I'm an update maniac. I update everything. UPDAAAAAATEEEEE )

Wow, cool character. Glad you drew his hairstyle, sad his hooded cloak hides it XD Wow, the grayscale drawing looked different but until I read the description I couldn't point my finger on why it was. So you used a different technique to apply the gradient, that's nice! The opposite alignment one really looks like another version. Always thought it was the "dark versions" of a character those who were supposed to give you the creeps but for some reason, I fill chilly looking at the "light version" of this one XD He's cool nonetheless, just... I like the original version a lot XD

beh potrebbe essere il gaglioffo compagnone che nessuno prenderebbe mai sul serio, per poi rivelarsi all'ultimo un lurido traditore e manipolatore, che stava fregando tutti tipo fin dall'inizio? xP
Poi boh, prendila come un'opinione di un non professionista che ha semplicemente consumato media su media, ma il fatto che il codice visivo di un personaggio, la sua caratterizzazione tramite l'aspetto, siano chiare ed esplicite, è molto relativo a che tipo di opera vuoi metter su... d'altra parte, Griffith non ha certamente l'impronta stilistica di un villain (a parte quei momenti in cui fa lo sguardo da falco a cui hai rubato il lemming...)
