I honestly didnt even like machoke until this year when I saw an episode of the old pokemon anime and realized the canon machoke design is actually adorable! And also great for practicing drawing hands? O.O I was drawing a machoke character design just for fun when I thought about making a pikachu character, and putting the pikachu and machoke together gave off that great big guy little guy dynamic. it wasnt until i decided on zeke's whole "pichu who is actually 30yo but is always mistaken for a child" schtick that Aiden got his "this kid is actually 14 but everyone treats him like he isnt a kid because he's so big" concept.
