You destroyed it? But why? Why not save the things you create to show the people you love? :< It makes me sad to hear you'd destroy something so beautiful.

I don't really have any attachment to things I make, let alone most people. I just like to create things.

what i wouldnt give to watch someone like you make this. these processes for photography are so foreign to me, i like to think everyone has a different process no matter what they are making. nothing can really be compared because nothing is ever made under the same circumstance. it just cant be. unique mind for each person. different tools used. i might be rambling lol...but it's all very provocative. i really hate those arguments too...

ok, long description. i imagine if it took you so long to create it then you kept that experience and joy somehow... you have often said how much it's about the making and not really the finished product that gives you the kick. well i guess this would be the most extreme form of that tick, actually breaking a piece of not just art, but beauty, passion and plain awesome eye candy...

nice picture

so, how the hell did this print work? you have a picture right, as a negative... then you copy that image into this dye print with an enlarger, and then you transfer the dye onto the granite slate? or am i totally upside down in my understanding?

I love your work and the story of it.

I use my imagination, because no one can market it to me, no one can control it, no one can rationalize it, no one can contain it, no one can capitalize off it, and no one will see what I see, unless I show them.

Imagination is the main point no?
After all, digital, analog photography are just tools for imagination, aren't they?

I am not going to pretend to understand all the technicalities here, but when I see something beautiful, I love it.

This got me dreaming...in awe. It conveys something close to the notion and the magic of Birth, all forms of birth, human or galactic.

There's so much energy and movement in it, but the peaceful kind which brings me to a certain degree of awareness.

Gorgeous...

its informative ---and this statement you made;
"No more is the camera the tool, the camera seems to be manifesting itself into another designers tablet. I thought it sounded legit, I mean digital photography has no identity, and the trends are shifting so fast towards total automation that it seems almost imminent that photography will not last more than 20 years in it's most honest state.
I don't see a problem with this though. What I do I almost stopped considering it photography. I am not the same as a photographer with a 20d, and an Epson printer. There is too many simple and astounding differences that comparing the two is like comparing a primate to a fish. I do not dislike digital photography, I hate the debates that are pointless and detached from any real motive. I do what I do because I cannot attain the results any other way. ' end of quote.
this statement'
"my life is just moments I try to grasp and fail, and having such an elaborate way to memorialize a single instance, no matter how dysfunctional and detached, makes me grounded.' end of quote
this statement
'The 21st century ushered in a new way of thinking.
I use my imagination, because no one can market it to me, no one can control it, no one can rationalize it, no one can contain it, no one can capitalize off it, and no one will see what I see, unless I show them.' end of quote...all quote made by you...
Is what i was talking about.---
i hear what you are saying here---and these thoughts are similar to what i was trying to say--in my poor english skills.
I have no issues with digital imagery---
as long as it is defined --the processing method--honestly.
To give false impressions that ones work is done traditionally as opposed to dgitially---is dishonest.
I value todays means of accomplishing an honest artistic expression--just call it what it is.

The sad sad sad reality of cyber communications.
While i thrive on using 'whatever means ' to release creative energy----and just now learning about digital possibilites----which i respect --
i just --want to know that there is a measure of seriousness attached to ones work---so that they call it for what it is.
I have become greatly disillusioned by the infantile misuse of stock etc ---here on dA---
i take art serious--and i see too much effortless blah blah blah...*
*
but again------
i realllllllllllllly dont care about this nor the news articles or any ongoing debates------
to be honest---my intentions with the news article i submitted----was to pricke some conscinces to think more responsiblty about what they are doing.....
too many folks assume themselves.
and again
the world as we know it-----------is changing.
written with the upmost respect towards you and your opnion...and refusing to attach an emoiticon to be understood--
i sing off with a handshake from an old heart.

It's so beautiful I almost had tears in my eyes. But it's kind of weird since you're sitting right here checking the weather on the Wii. And your mother is here... with her hoarse throat

What I find... utterly fascinating, and totally bewildering, is how... unattached you are to what you make. It feels as if it's all about the process, the experience. Just like how you tell me about those prints of your birds, it's all about listening to music and watching the birds appear one by one.

I don't think I'm at that level yet. I love what i make so much... I love looking at it. Love touching it. Love showing people what I made. It's so... juvenile :/ like omg daddy look what I made :D like Perry when he brings you a mouse toy that he found all by himself.

Perhaps one day

Anyway, back to the image... this is nothing short of wonder. Just... light, and colour. The very essence of the combination of the two. Simply glorious and utterly inspiring
