Description
I figured it was about time to introduce you all to the one who constructed TimeLock Castle; Chronos.Chronos was originally an Earth pony who absolutely HATED what he was; a being in a world of magic who had NO magical abilities whatsoever, no flight, no magic, nothing (not to say that he hates Earth ponies, but he didn't like being one at all).
On top of that, he didn't like the idea of things growing old and wearing out/dying. He thought it unfortunate and just plain wrong that things would do that in a world where they didn't have to.
Through his studies, he found out a way to enhance his form and lifespan via alchemy. By managing to scrape together various sources of magical and chemical energy (from various enchanted items and chemical compounds) he managed to synthesize a piece of philosopher's stone; the ultimate alchemical transmutation catalyst.
Using that first stone as the basis of his experiments, Chronos managed to create "living metal" prosthetic parts. The parts would blend in with a being's flesh, giving them new abilities and, more importantly, infinite longevity (eternal life) due to their regenerative magic.
After doing this, and enhancing his prosthetic parts over time, Chronos managed to give himself both flight and magic abilities, making himself into a self-built Alicorn. Using his magic, he managed to synthesize mass quantities of philosopher's stone which he used in conjunction with his knowledge of machinery, biology, and chemistry to build TimeLock Castle and its homunculus inhabitants.
After much research, trial and error, and time, he managed to perfect TimeLock's systems and inner workings; the castle containing within (and slightly outside) its own universe complete with its own laws of physics. Time didn't flow, and it was perpetual midnight and winter. Supplies never ran out, nothing broke without being taken apart, nothing aged, not even the inhabitants. With time, Chronos discovered that anyone who lived within TimeLock became permanently immortal if they stayed in the castle for one year's time or longer, afterward being able to leave the castle and still never grow old.
Chronos himself has his shortcomings though; he can be somewhat temperamental at times, as well as absent-minded, melancholy (excessively sad), and forgetful on occasion. In addition, his abilities, while powerful, are limited.
His mechanical wings enable him to fly and carry somewhat of a load, but he cannot fly that fast through the air; his speed only around half of that of a normal pegasus.
In addition, his magic isn't that controllable; he sometimes loses control of a spell that he's using due to a charge that occasionally builds up in his system. The energy might discharge, at best cancelling the spell, and at worst causing a bolt of energy to rush back through him and cause some slight pain (equal to a bad headache). This is due to his magic being powered by electricity and not normal magical energy supplies that a true unicorn has. On top of that, his magic is limited to a few spells; telekinesis, enchantment charging (for enchanting items or making philosopher's stone), and limited time travel.
In addition, Chronos is not that physically strong, or in particularly good shape. Although intelligent, he sometimes can struggle just to get up the stairs to his own tower without resorting to flying.
Despite the shortcomings, Chronos manages to keep the flying TimeLock Castle running smoothly (that is to say, he keeps the castle at the proper altitude in the air and keeps it away from storms and buildings). He also can have a good time with his assistants and subjects in TimeLock, all of whom he regards as equals, not as those who he rules over (despite the fact that all of TimeLock's inhabitants see him as something regal, much to his dislike).

Aw he's a sweetie. I like the pose, how he's leaning on the table. I imagined him to be blue, but I like your colour scheme too.

Believe it or not, that color scheme came from my favorite sweat shirt; an orange sweater with black lines going down the sleeves (lines not drawn here and probably won't be).
Anyway, thanks. ^_^
Chronos is definitely one of my favorite fan characters that I've come up with.

Do you have a way to get to Chronos? because I want some living metal limbs of my own. I'll even take a catapult there

XD
Well, in real life, what Chronos has achieved is more or less what I'm out to achieve; that is, immortality through machine implants and replacement parts.
I'm going to college to learn what I need to figure out how to build prosthetic body parts (including brain components) that can allow someone to live forever as a machine.
