Description
Yooka, though in the style of those 90s platformer mascot heroes, actually missed out on the relevent era. Why does this matter? Back then, a certain blue hedgehog became famous for being able to run through loop-de-loops, a stunt that many attempted (and failed) to replicate. Having completed his first adventure and gotten a taste of speed, our (rather witless) chameleon protagonist has decided to try and fulfill an old dream of his: replicate the stunt!... what could possibly go right?

The Loop of DOOM AND SADNESS alas claims another.
Hehehehehe, a pretty damn funny image to go back and take a poke at the old Hedgehog games and honest to hell I love this kind of stuff. Along with the fact you continue to generate some genuine humor from this duo and throw some extra video games fun in the mix is pretty damn spectacular.
Will say that I do love the way you panel things out very well here in your work. You take time to set things up, have characters talk and its very nice compared to an artist who you can clearly see is trying to rush to the joke.
Even the last few panels it isn't just a fall then the reaction. You get to see the start-up, the slip, the fall and THEN your character's react. Sorry to get this much into detail but one more reason gotta give credit to where its due.
And though you haven't shared any newer work, will say for the most part the whole Yooka Laylee work of yours is really splendid and bravo to evolving them the way you have to really get some wonderful humor and charm from these characters. Anywho, major props to your effort and awesome humor with the Yooka Laylee characters Zerodius, you're one amazing talent. *nods*

I am glad you think so.
I guess it's because I believe that humor work better when it's a natural result of the characters doing their thing rather than rushing a gag. I mean, Yooka and Laylee are a funny duo. So just... let them do their thing. Let them be funny. So I give them a scenario and then, I simply write them how I picture they'd act in such a situation.
Regarding the duo...
While the game was not perfect, I loved it for what it was and enjoyed taking the characters and essentially running all the way with the theme of self-aware characters in a world where writing is the source of their world's life.
But well, given how harshly the game was received, the disappointing updates trying to placate sid harsh reaction, and the rather obvious way that the project ended up collapsing...
I decided to stop and move on.
I did make a lot of work after this, notably regarding the Rain World setting lately but... I just feel that I'm far too invisible on DeviantArt for it to be worth it.

That's a great way to take not just the direction of the joke but the characters as we've both said before. Much rather like knowing the characters already and seeing them work off each other compared to just, OH LOOK A FUNNY THING HAPPENED. In that way one more reason I still give credit to your solid work on these comics.
And you bring up a good point too that sometimes characters just shine because they do have that potential to them. And even if they are a touch self-aware, in the very least it does make the work that much more amusing and a touch more funny even here where you throw a Sonic mention or have a misc Bubsy shirt that needs to be burned and sent to hell. ^O^
Even with the fact the game didn't go that well, will say I still rather have Yooka Laylee compared to some failures of some "EPIC UPCOMING GAMES" that turned ash into my hands, trust me. Anycase, I can understand when a fanbase isn't there as much as you hoped. Hell, there's lots of game/books/movies you'll know and love so dearly that no other soul will hear of, it happens.
In the very least I hope you are still making some creative endeavors with your work and I'm sorry to hear you feel that way considering yourself invisible. I'm sure you can still show off something with your brand of humor and even poking at other games or whatnot might be a good next step. Haven't heard what Rain World is, so apologies for lack of mention to it. o_0
Oh, and in the very least I hope you've heard of the Yooka Laylee : Legend Of Kracklestone book they announced a week or two ago on Kickstarter. The artwork looks phenomenal and I even went and ordered a book cause it looks so damn good. Anywho, sorry to bother your work with any my feedback here and regardless wanted to cheer on what awesome Yooka Laylee comics you made Zerodius. If you ever might get back to drawing any new works, do let me know. I'd love to see them ^=^
