Description
DragonCon 2011 "Lab Boy" (as referred to by Cave Johnson in his early narrations) complete with the Aperture Science Portable Quantum Tunneling Device. The cosplay and prop were put together by myself using the one silhouette caricature of the device with period clothing. The lab coat bares a 50s era Aperture Science Innovators logo over the upper pocket. The device bares the circular portion of the logo on the back coupling manifold.

This was my biggest undertaking to date and took me a few weeks to pull off. The large pack is taken from a specifically selected container. The main pack was spray-painted with multiple coats. The majority of materials are plastic with PVC, tubing, drainage pipe, dowel rods, bristol board, and more metal bolts and covers than I can count.

I believe the overall effect turned out well. I was featured in the parade with the rest of the Portal group. I even ran into Volpin and he said my gun was "great!" That pretty much made my day on Saturday.

Anyway from my online research I am the first to attempt the original Aperture Science Portable Quantum Tunneling Device and be featured in photographs so...hope you enjoy.
