Description Not plagiarizing, just re-uploading the deviations from my old account ~Narutosgirl156 .

I referenced a picture of *osy057 's character Hana to draw Enko's (middle) pose. I referenced a picture of Sakura (apparently by ~arriku ) to pose Minora (left). Namida (right) was drawn without reference.

I drew this picture before. This is the original: [link]

Oh! Well, I'm glad to hear they played a part in that. It's nice to think something I did inspired someone.

Might be because their color schemes and hairstyles were based on the Power Puff Girls.

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-22 03:52:28 +0000 UTC]

Of course, assuming that they knew who I was. But if they didn't I wouldn't blame them as long as they mention that they didn't draw it themselves, right?

Angrenereg In reply to Zerohope2survive [2008-07-22 16:29:25 +0000 UTC]

Well... thats youre point, but no one should take anyone works if he dont know who is artist... becouse - maybe that artist don't want, that others edit they work?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-22 18:47:51 +0000 UTC]

Well, I didn't edit it to begin with. I used it as a reference for my sketch, which is different from editing. I didn't trace it, if that's what you think.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Angrenereg In reply to Zerohope2survive [2008-07-23 16:39:40 +0000 UTC]

I know I've wrote before that I'm not sure that you edit it or inspire youreself...

Curently, its easy to guess that you don't edit it... becouse style is difrent... you have youre own, and people who edit arts don't have it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-23 18:45:50 +0000 UTC]

I think it kind of depends on where you draw the line between editing and referencing. In my opinion the difference is whether or not a person traces it.

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-24 21:58:14 +0000 UTC]

I don't know what a vector is. I use references for anatomy and composition alone.

Please don't threaten me, it's rude. I know I used someone's fanart, but considering that it's such a popular one, I ought not be expected to know who did it. Everyone should be able to recognize it, so I was waiting for someone to tell me who did it. I'll add credit right away, and thank you for telling me to whom I should give it.

Angrenereg In reply to Zerohope2survive [2008-07-17 16:30:42 +0000 UTC]

You should know who draw fanart which you use - specially you, becouse youre not bad editor/drawer, so youngers will learn from you.

Thank you for adding credits.

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-22 03:56:14 +0000 UTC]

Well, if it means so much to know who drew every last picture on photobucket, then next time I look for references I'll be certain to spend more time researching it than I would on actually drawing it.

Also, I don't get what you mean by "youngers will learn from you". >_> Sorry if you don't speak english perfectly for whatever reason, it just got me confused.

And thank you for telling me who drew the original.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Angrenereg In reply to Zerohope2survive [2008-07-22 16:40:56 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha... are you kidding? (Please tell that you do)

On Photobucket is many arts, which were stolen from artist from dA ...and others are stolen from private pages, becouse idiots who want put them on they blogs (ofcourse whitheout artist permit) submit them there...

By: "youngers will learn from you" I mean that peoples who start drawing in Naruto OC fandom watch at youre gallery, and they can deduct that editing others art whideout permit is fine.
Others artist drawings are not anime screen... and you should respect others rights.

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-22 18:55:24 +0000 UTC]

Well, to be honest I wouldn't count it as stolen unless the person who put it on photobucket was claiming they drew it. There are copies of the Mona Lisa everywhere, even though nobody ever asked DaVinci if he wanted his art placed on a google image search. And of course, I never claimed to have done My character's pose.

People will do that stuff anyway if they so choose, but again, I didn't edit anything. I drew it from scratch with ~arriku 's picture as a reference. I do respect other's rights, and if the artist of the original were to insist that I take it down, I would.

Angrenereg In reply to Zerohope2survive [2008-07-23 16:33:54 +0000 UTC]

No my dear... if you redistribute others artist works (you take them and submit anywhere whiteout permit), you stole it... read: [link] <- those are regulations from dA, but they are almoust the same like on PhotoBucket... like on whole world...

Thats true that people "will do that stuff anyway" like you correctly wrote... but that doesnt mean, that its fine.

Thing with Mona Lisa is a bit diffrent, becouse: DaVinci is dead already, and everyone know who is the artist who paint it...

And I know that you're not thief... if you were just hide up my comment - but you didnt do it, you added credits and you still talk with me - that nice from youre side. (beside, you have youre own style which one editors don't have).

You seem to be interesting person. From how long you draw?

...I've started when I was 8, what about you?

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-23 18:44:28 +0000 UTC]

Again, I wouldn't count it as copyright. Being a minor, I'm bound by the laws of my country. I can't leave. That, however, does not mean that I have to agree with its every law, I just have to follow them.

Da Vinci continues to have exclusive rights to his artworks to this day, and since he is dead, his relatives or descendants automatically receive those rights. Since the Orphaned works act was never passed (who would pass that piece of crap?) the same is true for everyone who creates an artwork. No one is allowed to reproduce or redistribute your work for profit even if you are dead. So initially, everyone who doesn't sign their work is setting themselves up for having their work stolen, because they are not claiming it as their own. Even if you post the work on photobucket without permission, as long as you don't erase the signature of the artist and don't accept any sort of profit from it, it's not infringement. In fact, it would be no different from taking a group of friends to an art museum to see your favorite artist's work. That's just my opinion, though. Not necessarily law. It's pretty close to the actual US copyright law, though.

Well... I didn't want to seem rude.

I've technically been drawing since I was able to hold a pencil... But for drawing in pursuit of a career, 11 years old. >_>

You aren't rude - we just talking

"In fact, it would be no different from taking a group of friends to an art museum to see your favorite artist's work. That's just my opinion, though." <- There is a big difrence... in museum all arts are sign on photobucket arent... and people which works are in museum or gallerie... got money for this ...besides, if those people are alive, they know where are they works...
But you got right about copyright and MonaLisa thing...
I've woted that, becouse I wanted to provoke you. Now I know, that you know a lot about copyright.

but as you say
"That's just my opinion, though."
Many artist don't want to others submit they works on Photobucket, or anywhere else, whideout talking with them before...
I do also - so I understnd those, who don't want this.

Drawings should be in galeries people who made them...

Zerohope2survive In reply to Angrenereg [2008-07-30 23:08:15 +0000 UTC]

Well, they may not all be signed on photobucket, but as I've said before if the artist didn't sign their drawing it's their own fault. Anyone who would erase the signature is doing something illegal. The reality of it is that if anyone really wants to protect their art, they wouldn't put it on the internet. Anonymity is protection from the law for those who would plagiarize someone else's work. There's really no such thing as law on the internet, especially if you hide your IP.

I, for one, think that if an artist has the guts to put their work on the internet they should be prepared to share their talent in more ways than just displaying it, because the possibility of it being stolen is exponentially increased.

Angrenereg In reply to Zerohope2survive [2008-07-31 11:20:38 +0000 UTC]

No my friend - when omeone take other artist work, that person should write who is artist and ads credits under comment if she/he didnt do this, work can be deleted, becouse of copyright voilation.
Internet its a one of bigest market places - people who live from drawing, use it and its normal.
But that doesnt mean that people can take it and do with it anythink what they want. thats a fact.

You may hide youre IP - but there is a wey to unblock it, and find person who stole arts. But usually its whideout sense - it cost too much, and price of work wont cover the cost of proses...

I know that people can take my work whideout my permit, I always knew it.
I draw for fans - but I want respect, and I always take action if someone take something mine whideout my permit.

My propety - my decision.
